CLAT 2027 Notification: Exam Dates, Eligibility and How to Apply

The Consortium of National Law Universities has released the CLAT 2027 notification on July 22, 2026 at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. As per the press release, CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6, 2026 from 2:00- 4:00 PM.

• The CLAT 2027 application will open from August 3, 2026 to October 31, 2026.
• You can easily apply to CLAT 2027 by clicking on “New Registration” link to create your login credentials.
• CLAT eligibility criteria 2027 is 45% marks in Class 10+2 for General/OBC students and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• Candidates can apply to CLAT multiple times as there is no age limit.

CLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Students must satisfy the CLAT eligibility criteria 2027 conditions before submitting the application. The criteria differ for UG and PG programmes.

CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 for General, OBC, and NRI categories.
• Minimum 40% aggregate marks in 10+2 for SC/ ST/ PwD categories.
• No upper age limit as per the latest Consortium guidelines.
• Students appearing in Class 12 in 2027 can apply provisionally and must submit proof of eligibility at admission.

CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum 50% aggregate marks in LLB degree or equivalent with minimum from a recognised university.
• Minimum 45% aggregate marks in LLB degree or equivalent for SC/ST/ PwD categories. 
• Final-year LLB students can apply provisionally and must submit proof of eligibility at admission.

How to Apply for CLAT 2027

The CLAT 2027 application process is fully online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Follow these steps to register without errors.

• Step 1: Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click the CLAT 2027 registration link on the homepage.
• Step 2: Complete new registration by entering your name, email address and mobile number to create login credentials.
• Step 3: Log in and fill in your personal, academic and contact details accurately in the application form.
• Step 4: Upload your photograph and signature in the format and file size prescribed in the instructions.
• Step 5: Select your preferred exam centre city from the available list.
• Step 6: Pay the application fee online via net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.

CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern

CLAT exam 2027 will be conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode for 2 hours with 120 questions. The exam uses a comprehension-based format where each section presents a passage followed by MCQs. 

CLAT Exam Pattern 2027 for UG:

• Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
• Each incorrect answer carries a deduction of 0.25 marks.
• Unattempted questions carry no negative marking.

The CLAT PG exam pattern 2027 also consists of 120 questions in 2 hours covering constitutional law, jurisprudence, administrative law and other core law subjects along with comprehension and current affairs passages. The marking scheme for PG is same as that of CLAT UG 2027.
