CLAT 2027 Application Timeline: Registration to Result

CLAT 2027 application timeline begins with registration in July 2026 and concludes with final seat allotment in February 2027 — the exam is expected in December 2026.

The Consortium of National Law Universities releases the CLAT 2027 schedule for admission to five-year integrated LLB and LLM programmes across 24 participating NLUs. CLAT 2027 Registration Process

Students must register at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The process has four steps: account creation, form filling, document upload and fee payment. Complete all steps before the last date in October 2026 (expected).

1. Create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number on the official Consortium portal.
2. Fill in personal and academic details — name, date of birth, category, Class 12 marks and subject details.
3. Upload scanned documents — passport-size photograph, signature and Class 10 certificate or equivalent proof of date of birth.
4. Pay the application fee through net banking, debit card or credit card on the portal.
5. Submit the form and save the confirmation page and application number for future reference.

Eligibility at a glance: Students appearing in or having passed Class 12 with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) are eligible for the UG programme. There is no age limit for CLAT 2027.

CLAT 2027 Admit Card and Exam Date

The CLAT 2027 admit card is expected to release in late November or early December 2026 on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Students must download the hall ticket using their registered login credentials and carry it to the exam centre.

Documents to carry on exam day:

• Printed admit card (A4 size)
• One original government-issued photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN, Passport or Voter ID
• Passport-size photograph identical to the one uploaded in the form

The CLAT 2027 exam is expected on the first Sunday of December 2026. The paper runs for two hours (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM IST) and consists of 120 objective questions. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer and each correct answer carries one mark making the total marks 120.

CLAT 2027 Result and Counselling Schedule

The CLAT 2027 result is expected in January 2027, a few weeks after the December exam. The Consortium publishes the merit list and individual scorecards on the official portal. Students can download their scorecard using their login ID and use it for counselling.

After the result, centralised counselling proceeds in multiple rounds. Students must fill college preferences based on their rank and available seats across participating NLUs.

Students who receive a seat allotment must report to the allotted NLU with original documents — Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, category certificate (if applicable) and two sets of photocopies. Failure to report within the stipulated deadline results in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
