  • Difficulty of the classes is as expected and more difficult than other lower-ranked schools. They try to maintain the rankings and outlook. You need to take 4 classes a semester so a day could be busy or not depending on your schedule.
  • Average number of students is around 150 in each class and about 20-30% would be Indians in each class that you will take.

Fees

  • Fees are about 32000 per year for 11 credits and over. Living expenses can be around 1000 per month plus food and transportation. Food costs around 200-300. Transportation could depend on your lifestyle.
  • Other regular expenses are also a personal thing and can depend but expect around 55000 a year, including everything. There are other costs that can take it higher.

  • The difficulty level is moderate to hard; most courses are a mix of both theoretical and practical, with a strong emphasis on class projects and assignments involving a lot of practical applications; the theoretical part is covered in-depth in classes.
  • The most positive aspects are the in-class interactions and the opportunity to have in-depth classroom discussions on varied topics related to the subject.
  • The most negative aspect is that some courses have a disproportionately large workload, with assignments taking up a lot of time over concepts that actually don't get used in other practical projects.

Fees

  • Tuition: approx. 16,000 USD per semester
  • Insurance and other college amenities: approx. 1500 USD per semester
  • Fee is paid sem-wise; usually there are 4 semesters for the course
  • It is required to register for a minimum of 12 credits (4 courses) every semester.
  • Avg rents: 650-1000 USD ( ranging from sharing to non-sharing)
  • Average monthly living expense ( with food and utilities and for single room): approx. 1200 USD

  • The difficulty of the course varies from easy to hard. It is entirely dependent on what course one is taking. Basically all the algo courses are hard. Some core courses if someone have a background for it is going to be easy.
  • Most of the courses are rated in course critique for Gatech. All the courses have new learnings for sure. But few of the courses are just a revision class for whatever I learned in undergrad.

Fees

  • Every course has different fee structure, but for Masters in Computer Science.
  • I could say that each semester is capped at 12 credit hours, costing approximately $17,400, with each credit hour priced at around $1,400.
  • Health insurance costs an additional ~$1,200 per semester. Monthly living expenses are approximately $1,500 for individual student housing but can be reduced to $900-$1,000 if sharing a room, making it more affordable.

My course is rigorous and needs a lot of focus and hard work on weekly assignments and tests. If you are coming better be prepared to work hard.

Georgia Tech is the 2nd best public school in the US for Chemical Engineering. But this is not the only reason to choose Gatech, there were several factors and a lot of research behind it. I also got admitted to some of the best universities. I created a preference matrix that helped me to choose the best one and Gatech stood out as the the best out of that. My initial experience was tough because the course was rigorous and it was not easy to cop up with all the stuff at once after landing in this company. But now it's pretty good as I am used to and have a lot to learn.

The course structure is good and we have total freedom to choose courses. It is up-to-date and I am learning about latest technology. Most of my coursework has been theoretical, so not a lot of industrial experience, but Professors that have taught me share their industrial experiences which helps a lot.

Fees

USD 17000 per semester. Thus, $68000 for 4 semesters.
