What Students Say
Likes
- Faculty and mostly the students (they are super intelligent, and I enjoy sharing ideas and talking with them which motivates me to grow more) Campus life is also good.
Dislikes
- As of now, there's none. But I wanted to mention about the accommodation. It's pretty expensive over here as it's located in the midtown so your living costs are high.
Georgia Tech is the 2nd best public school in the US for Chemical Engineering. But this is not the only reason to choose Gatech, there were several factors and a lot of research behind it. I also got admitted to some of the best universities. I created a preference matrix that helped me to choose the best one and Gatech stood out as the the best out of that. My initial experience was tough because the course was rigorous and it was not easy to cop up with all the stuff at once after landing in this company. But now it's pretty good as I am used to and have a lot to learn.
Course Curriculum
My course is rigorous and needs a lot of focus and hard work on weekly assignments and tests. If you are coming better be prepared to work hard.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10 (maybe, I am not sure about this). The professors are super chill and always helpful. But you have to show that eagerness to learn and know more. They will guide you but not spoon-feed you. They want you to be doing the hard work. You have to leave behind the shortcuts mindset (smartwork is different but if you don't want to work and want everything done for you then this is not the place to come).
Campus Life
Too good. Whatever the question is related to campus life my answer will be the same. And I think it will answer all the questions.
Placement
For my university it's great, almost everyone got internships. I know the market is not good right now, there are some difficulties, but I think this completely depends on students and sometimes luck as well.
Accommodation
I live off campus and accommodation here in midtown Atlanta is too expensive. For a private bedroom you have to pay around $1350 (including everything) and for sharing around $800.
Exams
- My Scores: IELTS - 7.5/9, Speaking: 7, Writing: 7, Listening:8, Reading: 7.5 - Mumbai University 9.3/10; SSC - 83% (10th); HSC - 72% (12th) - Requirements: Yes, I have summited all of these. It's mandatory to add your experience (I have internship experience, so I said that), your motivation behind choosing this field, and why you chose this university in your SOP. If you are coming for your master's, make sure to explore some research work of some of the professors and try to add them as well (just a couple of lines maybe). Make sure your resume is standardized and not fancy. Avoid plagiarism and CHATGPT. It's good to refer to but not to copy. Make sure to get your SOP reviewed at least 8 to 10 times before submitting (from professionals), because we tend to make many mistakes and avoid grammatical errors. For documents, to keep it simple... you have to submit whatever they ask. - Interview Round: I didn't had any interviews but I had to write some supplementary essays (3) while submitting my application. It was related to my field. Like something related to creative thinking and all.
Events
