Course Curriculum

10

  • The difficulty of the course varies from easy to hard. It is entirely dependent on what course one is taking. Basically all the algo courses are hard. Some core courses if someone have a background for it is going to be easy.
  • Most of the courses are rated in course critique for Gatech. All the courses have new learnings for sure. But few of the courses are just a revision class for whatever I learned in undergrad.

Admission Experience

  • Applied to:
  1. National College of Ireland (Dublin) : Accepted
  2. University of Adelaide (Australia): Accepted
  • Rejected in:
  1. Dublin College (Ireland): Rejected
  2. University of Toronto (Canada): Rejected
  • I was accepted in the college where I applied for the computer Science field, but wherever I applied for the specific data analysis or scientist I was rejected. May be they wanted more of a research in the specific field.
  • This is one of the most renowned college, college success is defined by its alumni. The alumni network is so strong that forbes 30 under 30 had 8 of them from Gatech.
  • Fill up the form, give the questionnaire as in SOP, IELTS score of 7 and above required. IF having a work experience is a good point.
  • Admission process is hassle free, admission dept is reachable at any point of time to answer any confusion.
  • So,For taking Admission it’s an online process forms open up atleast 6 months in advance for the session you are planning to join i.e. For the August intake forms will be available by mid february similarly for the spring semester.
  • I applied in february the results for my application came in within a week or so. Then from there the instructions were provided in the mail on how to proceed.
  • The most tricky part for this process is timeline you would have 6 months for preparation to move but getting a visa slot is complicated so my suggestion as soon as you get your I 20 start looking out for visa slots so in that case and have enough time for applying again if the visa gets rejected in the first place.

Class Schedule

10

  • The classes have their own schedule listed one can plan to take all 4 classes in a day or 2 in a day.
  • All classes have 2 lectures throughout the week. The average number of students are 100-120 students.
  • Almost all class have 30% students as Indian.

Faculty

10

  • The faculty to student ratio is good, most of the classes are taught in person.
  • The course taught though lays the bed for finding a job but couldn't guarantee it.
  • Specifically, faculty members doesn't help in finding jobs but there's career cell which answers all the doubts, concern for the student requiring any guidance.
  • I admire many professors here as most of them have industry experience. Or the advanced researcher in their own field. So , everyday you get to learn from them different aspects of education.

Campus Life

10

  • Its a 400 acre open campus. So counting how many campus the college have isn't easy.
  • It's one big connected campus through the Georgia Tech Bus services.
  • Few facilities are always available in the campus as it provides stay for the faculty in the campus.
  • Almost all the major festivals through out the world is celebrated in the campus. One just needs to be aware of that.
  • There several communities one can join to know about all these. Or follow all the pages related to Georgia tech to know what, when and where the festivals are being celebrated.
  • Georgia tech excel in sports we have CRC for everyone to go there and practice whatever sport one would like to play.

Part Time Jobs

  • Almost 30-40% student can have the opportunity of securing the TA, RA or DA positions.
  • The pay range for TA is $1200-$1800
  • Other campus job are Tech Dining, Restaurant Services, Departmental Services, HR assistant job and all other are always listed on the Jobs on Campus website of Gatech
  • The average salary for other job $10-$15 per hour
  • One can work maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Its easy to get a campus jobs
  • Like 30% student typically earn in hourly basis throughout. One Should not stretch much as it becomes hard to mange study along with it. Just look for jobs On Campus website. Or always be on a lookout for billboards..
  • The job application is process is like any other job application process one can think of. Apply wait for the call. or do a follow up and then interview and get the job based on it.

Placement

10

  • As per the reports student from gatech are always in high demand for the employment. Almost 90%-95% student secures a job post the completion of the course within 6 months.
  • Average salary range is between $80k- $200k
  • Networking, career Fair, Campus events, career guidance, career buzz the website of college, linkedin, indeed, interstride are the above process and website for finding the jobs
  • My classmates few of them have grasped the internship offers and some are still struggling for the opportunity.
  • Apple, google,Meta, Netflix, Amazon, Coco-Cola, Salesforce, ServiceNow, One can name the company they hire it from the campus.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • Once the admission is confirmed just follow through online and nearby area in college through google maps that's what helped me find the accommodation.
  • Some or the other will try to reach to the student for the accommodation.
  • The monthly rent varies from the place to place but if sharing it could be between 500-800. But if one is not sharing the room it could be between 800-1200. Above this is mostly expensive.
  • My accommodation is walkable distance from college. Recommendation: Flats, Farington, Exchange, Westside and many more

Exams

  • For admission, IELTS is the only required exam to demonstrate English proficiency.
  • However, it is better to have a complete application package, which includes an undergraduate degree certificate, official transcripts, an updated CV/resume, and a minimum of 3 Letters of Recommendation (LOR).
  • A well-written Statement of Purpose (SOP) can further strengthen the application. An interview was not part of my admission process.

Fees

  • Every course has different fee structure, but for Masters in Computer Science.
  • I could say that each semester is capped at 12 credit hours, costing approximately $17,400, with each credit hour priced at around $1,400.
  • Health insurance costs an additional ~$1,200 per semester. Monthly living expenses are approximately $1,500 for individual student housing but can be reduced to $900-$1,000 if sharing a room, making it more affordable.

Scholarship

  • No, students can apply for Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or Research Assistant (RA) positions.
  • These roles come with significant benefits, including a full tuition fee waiver, which covers the entire cost of tuition.
  • Additionally, GTAs and RAs often receive a stipend, helping to cover living expenses and other costs, making graduate education more affordable
