- Great Research Opportunities under professors from various specialisations, both in CS and even from other departments
- The general college atmosphere is very welcoming and conducive to learning
- There is flexibility in choosing and changing your specializations any time
Dislikes
- The administrative department is usually slow to respond especially during the admissions process
- For finalising admission, they verify education documents first before approving the i20, which leads to a lot of delays
- The process of getting funding is not completely merit-based, and quite dependent on networking instead
Campus Life
- The main campus is in Atlanta only; there is one other campus in China and some other partner programs in Europe.
- We have all major facilities available: a large gymnasium with swimming pool, football grounds, squash, tennis, and badminton courts; a dedicated health centre with medical and dental facilities; three libraries with quiet spaces; and grad lounges.
- We have a major hackathon event that takes place here at GT and a grand welcome celebration week for freshmen.
- The Indian students club is quite active and hosts events on Diwali, Ganpati, New Years, etc. and has stalls, food and performances
- The major extracurricular activities are the football leagues that attract a lot of attention; other sports like basketball and volleyball matches are also very regular and lot of colleges compete in them.
Accommodation
- I have taken off-campus accommodations.
- I found my accommodation through the marketing office contacts of the leasing offices of apartments in Atlanta, in conjunction with groups on Whatsapp.
- My monthly rent is: $940 for a private room in a gated complex with facilities such as a gym, swimming pool, community space, central ventilation, and billiards table
- The major challenge was international calls since the marketing office agents were only available on cellphones, so managing the logistics of that was quite a task
- I'd recommend looking for accommodation near college and in safe localities; the off-campus accommodation is usually better in terms of living standards and affordability
- My house is within 1.5 miles of the campus; most of the students stay in apartment complexes around mine only.

- The campus is something to look out for, a beautiful campus spread over 400 acres with companies all around in the middle of city.
- The course structure is rigorous not an ivy league college but treated like an ivy league college all around the country.
- Hard to get admitted but once you are in you are in for an adventure too much to learn with lots of educational activities and many more cultural activities.
Dislikes
- The vicinity of the college is not safe, but GTPD is maintaining the harmony.
- One can easily get lost in many other activities, if not focused on the main objective of study.
- The professors aren't that easily accessible.
Campus Life
- Its a 400 acre open campus. So counting how many campus the college have isn't easy.
- It's one big connected campus through the Georgia Tech Bus services.
- Few facilities are always available in the campus as it provides stay for the faculty in the campus.
- Almost all the major festivals through out the world is celebrated in the campus. One just needs to be aware of that.
- There several communities one can join to know about all these. Or follow all the pages related to Georgia tech to know what, when and where the festivals are being celebrated.
- Georgia tech excel in sports we have CRC for everyone to go there and practice whatever sport one would like to play.
Accommodation
- Once the admission is confirmed just follow through online and nearby area in college through google maps that's what helped me find the accommodation.
- Some or the other will try to reach to the student for the accommodation.
- The monthly rent varies from the place to place but if sharing it could be between 500-800. But if one is not sharing the room it could be between 800-1200. Above this is mostly expensive.
- My accommodation is walkable distance from college. Recommendation: Flats, Farington, Exchange, Westside and many more

- Faculty and mostly the students (they are super intelligent, and I enjoy sharing ideas and talking with them which motivates me to grow more) Campus life is also good.
Dislikes
- As of now, there's none. But I wanted to mention about the accommodation. It's pretty expensive over here as it's located in the midtown so your living costs are high.
Campus Life
Too good. Whatever the question is related to campus life my answer will be the same. And I think it will answer all the questions.
Accommodation
I live off campus and accommodation here in midtown Atlanta is too expensive. For a private bedroom you have to pay around $1350 (including everything) and for sharing around $800.

- Research facilities and infrastructure, collaboration between different research groups. There are some good courses offered. The campus infrastructure is good.
Dislikes
- Sometimes the courses can be very specific to the research area of the faculty amd moght not always meet the general job market requirements. In that case, one need to navigate throught the perfect course combinations.
Campus Life
Campus facilities and infrastructure is good. There ate plenty ot student events round the year.
Accommodation
There are on campus and off campus options. On-campus has limited seats. Off-campus is available in case one wants to share rooms to save rent.
Likes
- TA ship which offers scholarship and stipend, there are lot of TA and RA opportunities with tuition wavier which are easy to score. The college's carrer fair is also a good part where many top tier companies visit.
Dislikes
- It's very strict and tough, sometimes puts you through times where the only solution is hard work, no matter how intelligent you are. The professors are high profiles so you really need to be genius to catch their attention.
Campus Life
The campus is beautiful and well maintained with shuttle's all day long, wifi, and also van drop services at night
Accommodation
You can find personal rooms for 1100-1400 on an average

- I chose this university because I loved the research options they had and the campus was really beautiful. It’s in the city but has a lot of greenery too. It has one of the top CS programs in the Nation and engineering too. I was a science major and it has a medium sized class so not too big. Very diverse group of students too.
Campus Life
There are so many extracurricular clubs! Lots of different diverse clubs like Asian American club and also sports club like volleyball and badminton which are fun. The library is very new and has two cafes in it with quiet floors too. The Wi-Fi isn’t slow but sometimes it disconnects but it’s still great.
Accommodation
The dorms aren’t too new and most dorms are sharing a room with one other person but they have a specific apartment for graduate students and apartments for upperclassmen where you get your own room. There are off campus apartments that can be a lot more expensive but nicer and houses for cheap.
Campus Life
The campus is very modern with all the expected facilities, including good bus transport, wifi and fast food restaurants on campus
Accommodation
Being in Atlanta, the accommodation is relatively expensive compared to most college towns. I stay in an apartment off campus and pay $1100 per month including all living expenses.
Accommodation
On-campus and off-campus accommodations are available. On-campus is expensive but safe, off-campus is cheaper but less secure and travel costs increase. Grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. available nearby and affordable. I stay 1.5 km away from campus in a student residence with 2 roommates.
Good teachers and professors, a respected university, great recruiting history, a good place to learn, not too bad weather conditions, interesting research, public university - so moderate tuition fees.
Accommodation
I have been living in Atlanta since 2019. I started school at GT in 2020 so I already had an apartment here, which I really like. Its in a safe neighborhood and the rent is relatively cheap. I think there is also on-campus housing but I did not look into it. I have a roommate.
GT is a big name, especially in the south. The department is relatively new, extremely knowledgeable, really cohesive and extremely supportive. They gave me the best funding.
Accommodation
I live off-campus in an apartment complex of 2 bedrooms and 1 living room with 3 people which is located about 2 miles from the campus. I pay a total of 700$ including utilities for this apartment which is quite basic in Atlanta.
The key governing factor for my selection of Gatech was the research work pursued by my advisor and the overall research culture in the college. Other secondary reasons were overall university ranking, ranking in the particular department/area I plan to study, location in terms of city vs university town etc.
