However on academic success, they aslo offer scholarships which reduces the course fee by 70%.
The alumni of this very institution are placed at top company and firms like deloitte,kpmg,ey etc
The faculty is quite good and the library is filled to the brim with books. most members of the faculty are very friendly and always ready to help students with doubts.

Dislikes

Canteen food horrible in taste no chips no chocolates no cheese no butter no options very bad
There was very poor coordination among the administration and faculty. Sometimes the adminstration didn't even think of the students.
Attendance not giving for events if no attendance they debar the students without any rehem

Your ultimate guide to St. Xavier's University

Infrastructure - Classroom have A/C , Toilets are clean ,
Faculty is very helpful and they teach professionally

Dislikes

No homeworks are given to the students .
Placements provided by college is good but salary package are not up to average

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college campus is 6/10 as because according to our seniors , the placements cells will not assure to get you secured placements after our completion of course . Aslo the companies which come to our college to take fresher are not big companies , few companies come each year. A stuents becomes eligible for placements after completing 3rd year . The details for companies are not known by me till now . My prans after getting passed out is to find jobs by myself or get into my business

St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata , a dream come true.

Likes

The faculty in the college is great, from concept clarity to doubt solving , unlike most of the colleges , the professors are willing to give their time to students as much as they need.
The courses in the college are structured in a way which helps the students to visualise and enjoy the process of learning, even the theoretical parts are made interesting by taking real life cases and examples.
Ther are lots of events that happen in the college , and the annual fest, the XAVOTSAV , is the biggest highlight for every year. So, even the extra curricular activities are sorted for a student. Hence you can live college life at it's best.

Dislikes

There are few rules like boys cannot wear round neck t shirts, girls cannot wear too short dresses and many more.
The college is often criticized for it's strict attendance rules of 75% attendance compulsory to sit in the semester exams.
The B.Com (Morning) course is an only boys batch but the day classes and evening classes are co-ed, so the college should consider making b.com morning all a co-ed course as after 10 am the students have almost a whole day to day anything the want.

Placement Experience:

The college's placements have been great since the past few years, as the highest packages going upto 23-24 lakhs and the average packages being 8-9 lakhs. Many companies like Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, IBM, EY, Dabur , Godrej etc. come every year for recruitment in the college. The students become eligible for campus placements from the final year of their course, however this may vary for different courses.

The Xaverian Experience

Likes

One of the best things about this college is that it’s heat proof, all the classrooms including halls and auditorium, it’s all air conditioned.
The campus size is huge, there’s a lot to do and a lot of activities can be pursued in the campus.
The faculty members are quite supportive and they’re always present to guide their students.

Dislikes

The college administration is extremely strict about attendance.
The attendance restriction makes it hard for students who wish to pursue professional courses like CA/CS/CFA.
Even though the college has a huge infrastructure, not many students like to engage in different activities.

Placement Experience:

After the completion of one's degree, they can opt for placements, this college does over placements and has quite alright of an average package on offer. My plans after getting the degree is to opt for MBA in any of the top IIMs preferably.

Campus is big, campus size buildings gardens games room all good
Faculty is nice, teachers are really nice here
Academic is good here for all the courses, cias are taken properly exams are conducted

Dislikes

The University has a dedicated placement cell in which you could enroll yourself for internship as well as you could get placed through here. The alumni of this very institution are placed at top company and firms like Deloitte,KPMG,EY etc

LIFE OF A STUDENT IN COLLEGE

Likes

The atmosphere of the university as well as the faculty , the professors of the university are very helpful and have friend like behaviour, they also do provide us with external knowledges apart from our subjects
There as also electronic facilities available for students, they also provide us with a lot of valuable internship benefitting the students in future also helping them to gain knowledge and experience which would be very much helpful in future for us

Dislikes

Some faculty members are very partial and strict , at times they do not listen to our justifications and explanations and blame us for things which do not involve us

St.Xavier's University Review

The campus being this vast and its maintenance being top notch throughout.
The diversity in of the college students and faculty availability is another thing i like very much in this institution.
The fests obviously are one of the craziest in the state such that students from other universities are also enthusiastic about our fests.

Dislikes

The course fee for the course is a bit on the higher side.
The attendance mandation could be a little forgiving.
The marking scheme could be more lineant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum here is made both student friendly and knowledge oriented.The curriculum is a ready solution for real life situations. The course however emphasize more on assignment based learning. The exams held are aslo according to the basic schedule. One mid term and one end semester exam per semester.

Review of a Day Scholar

Likes

The campus is quite big. More construction is still going on.
The Library is quite good. Many books are their and the environment is also good.
Classes are quite big and air conditioned

Dislikes

It's situated at very distant location. There are no things to explore nearby.
The faculty is not good and the teachers are also not cooperative.
Canteen food is not quite as good. The prices are good but there are not a lot of variety and sometimes it tastes very weird.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is nice but the faculty members are not. There are a lack of good faculty members present in this college. The good ones which were present left their post and transferred to other nice institutions. Some of the teachers are a bit harsh and always blackmail us regarding the attendance. And sometimes they will not even give the attendance even if we are present in the class.

Likes

The college has a big playground for outdoor sports.
The faculties are humble, friendly and co operative.
There is no uniform system in the college.

Dislikes

The classrooms are not too big for a lot many students.
The average placement of the college is not so good
The campus is not too big and hence we cannot enjoy the college life properly.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from fifth semester. Different companies visit the college and recruits the students. The highest package has been 6 lakh and the average package ranges between 3 to 4 lakhs.

All about St. Xavier's University, Kolkata

Likes

The faculty members are well experienced.
The standards of discipline are very high.
There is a lot of scope for extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

The dress code can be loosened up a little.
Major actions can be taken against the students for rather small mistakes.
Students should be allowed to leave the campus at any point of time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a commerce student, I chose B.Com. Hons. as it suited me better compared to other courses. The faculty members are fairly qualified and experienced and the faculty-to-student ratio is good. The exams were scheduled a little early during the first year which was a result of the late admission process due to Covid.
