From semester 5 the students are eligible for campus placements. The companies like Deloitte, PWC, KPMG, EY, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Axis Bank, Dabur,Godrej, Britannia, ABP, Reliance, Wipro, Flipkart and many more visit for placements in the campus. Post-graduate students are undergoing rigorous Internship with some of the leading organisation like, Balmer Lawrie, Tractors India Limited, State Bank of India, United Bank of India, Press Trust of India, Friends 91.9 FM, The Times of India, Coal India Limited, Tata Hospital, Hope Foundation etc. I will not be pursuing my line in corporate rather than on the path to be a clinical psychologist

Placement Experience:

Our university has some placement criterias. It is all based on our academics, extra curriculars and field works. The deserved candidates are always awarded with the best placements. But obviously 100 percent placements are not guaranteed

Students become eligible for placements from 5th semester onwards. Speaking of the mass communication placements it was really terrible, we didn't receive the company's we were told wound come for placements. All of our placement opportunities were of general streams mostly for b.com courses. The highest package was offer 3 LPA form our class from a company which was not very popular. Most of the students from our course is opting for master degree. Personally I am looking for internship opportunities on various platforms.

How is the placement at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata at present?

I know a few people from the institute so I know a little bit about the institute. St. Xavier's University is not a good university for business management courses and the placements here are not very good.

For the academic year 2020, companies like Deloitte, EY came here for placements but the package offered is very less with an average package of around 3.5 - 4.2 LPA. And the roles for which the students are hired are not even required MBA specialization.
The placement officer at the institute is not very cooperative. The management also told the students who were opting for HR that there won't be enough jobs available and they won't be responsible for it.
The MBA students have to appear for interviews with the same group of B.Com, Eco Hons, Eco M.A, BMS students instead of paying higher fees of almost three times and the hostel fees which are compulsory too. The course cost around 14 lakhs.

Instead of joining St. Xavier's University with such high fees and poor academics and placements, it is better to choose any other business school with good placements.
