Ans. GATE is not strictly mandatory for admission to M.Tech Civil Engineering at CSMU. Candidates who do not have a GATE score are required to appear for the CSMU Common Entrance Test (CSMUCET). However, having a valid GATE score exempts you from CSMUCET and strengthens your application. Additionally, GATE-qualified students may be eligible for the Teaching Assistantship of Rs. 15,000 per month, which is a significant financial benefit during the programme.
Ques. What is the total fee for M.Tech Civil Engineering at CSMU and are there any hidden charges?

Ans. CSMU has a dedicated placement cell with industry collaborations across sectors. Civil Engineering M.Tech graduates from CSMU can explore opportunities in infrastructure companies, construction firms, government departments (PWD, NHAI, MMRDA), real estate developers, and research organisations. The university's location in Navi Mumbai, a rapidly developing urban hub, provides proximity to major infrastructure projects and employers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. However, since the programme has a small intake of 18 seats, placement data specific to this course is limited in the public domain.
Ques. Can I pursue M.Tech Civil Engineering at CSMU while working part-time?
Ans. The M.Tech Civil Engineering programme at CSMU is offered in full-time on-campus mode only. Students are expected to attend regular classes, laboratory sessions, and project work on campus. Students interested in part-time options may explore CSMU's Ph.D. programme, which is available in part-time mode (4 years).
Ques. What is the refund policy if I withdraw from the M.Tech programme after admission?
Ans. CSMU follows UGC guidelines for fee refunds. If you withdraw 15 or more days before the last date of admission, you receive a full refund minus a processing charge of up to Rs. 1,000. Withdrawing less than 15 days before the last date results in a 90% refund. Within 15 days after the last date, you get an 80% refund; between 15-30 days after, a 50% refund; and beyond 30 days after the last date of admission or after commencement of classes, no refund is provided. The application fee of Rs. 1,100 is non-refundable under all circumstances.
