CSMU BHM FAQs
Ques. What labs and practical training facilities are available for BHM students at CSMU?
Ans. CSMU's Department of Hospitality Management has four dedicated practical training labs for BHM students. The Food Production Lab trains students in culinary skills, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. The Housekeeping Lab is a simulated setup for training in cleaning, linen management, and guest room upkeep. The Front Office Lab replicates a hotel reception area where students practice guest handling, reservations, and check-in/check-out procedures. The Food and Beverage Lab is equipped for training in restaurant and bar operations, table setting, beverage preparation, and guest service. These labs ensure students are industry-ready before they graduate.
Ques. Does CSMU BHM accept MAH BHMCT CET scores, and is it mandatory to appear in this exam?
Ans. Yes, CSMU officially accepts MAH BHMCT CET (MHCET) scores for BHM admission, as confirmed on the Department of Hospitality Management page. However, it is not the only route - CSMU also accepts CSMUCET scores and CUET UG scores. Students who score 80% or above in 10+2 may be eligible for direct merit-based admission without appearing in CSMUCET. MAH BHMCT CET 2026 was conducted from April 28-30, 2026, and its results will be used for admission counselling. Students who have already appeared in MAH BHMCT CET can use those scores directly for CSMU BHM admission.
Ques. What is the total fee for BHM at CSMU and how does it compare to other hospitality programs at the university?
Ans. The total fee for BHM at CSMU is Rs. 4,95,000 over 4 years (including the one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 15,000), at Rs. 1,20,000 per year. This is higher than the 3-year B.Sc (Hospitality Studies) which costs Rs. 2,85,000 total (Rs. 90,000/year), but the BHM is a more comprehensive 4-year program with dedicated labs and deeper industry training. The 2-year Diploma in Hotel Management costs Rs. 90,000/year. Fee payment can be made in up to 4 installments per year, and at the time of admission, a minimum of 50% of the annual fee must be paid.

BHM graduates from CSMU can pursue careers across the hospitality sector including 5-star hotels, resort chains, cruise lines, airline catering, event management companies, and restaurant chains. Entry-level roles include front office executive, food and beverage supervisor, housekeeping executive, banquet coordinator, and kitchen management trainee. Ques. How is the BHM program structured at CSMU in terms of semesters and internships?
Ans. The BHM program at CSMU is a 4-year program spread across 8 semesters. Each semester includes both theoretical subjects and practical lab sessions. Students undergo mandatory internships in relevant hospitality industries as part of the curriculum, typically after the second or third year, providing real-world exposure in hotels and restaurants. The assessment pattern includes internal exams (30 marks) and theory/external exams (70 marks) per subject. Students must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be eligible for semester exams and scholarships. The examination fee is Rs. 1,000 per exam, charged separately.
Ques. Is BHM at CSMU affiliated to any hotel management council or regulatory body?
Ans. CSMU is a private university established under the Maharashtra Private Universities Act, 2014, and is recognized by the UGC. The BHM program is offered under the Department of Hospitality Management and is a university-level degree. It is important to note that CSMU's BHM is different from the IHM (Institute of Hotel Management) programs affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), which are government-run programs. CSMU's BHM is a private university degree that is recognized for employment and higher education purposes, but students seeking NCHMCT-affiliated programs should apply separately through NCHM JEE.
