Likes

I like the campus , it is quite huge and green , the canteen has both cooked and packed food available, a seperate common room for students and many sports equipment available. Several functions are arranged along with international conferences held
All the faculty members are soft spoken , knowledgeable and friendly, it is easy to find help regarding anything.
Professors are strict about their syllabus and subjects , paying proper attention to the students. Practicals classes are conducted without fail.

Dislikes

There is nothing as such that I disliked because I am a first year student so I haven't been so much involved yet , I think that the washrooms should be cleaned properly to maintain the hygiene apart from thjs everything is fine.

I had applied to several colleges , out of which first I got admission in New Alipore College after which I upgraded to Sister Nibedita General Degree College For Girls for the subject combinations offered and the strict attention to studies. Admission process is simply through the state government portal followed by document verification by faculty .

Insights of SNU

Likes

Our faculties are very good. Supportive. They teach everything in great detail. They take tests they ask questions they makethe lectures an interactive session and not a boring classroom.
Our labs are well furnished. Our labs have everything that we need for ug and pg students.
Our seniors are very cooperative. They are always ready to help and are very friendly

Dislikes

Last minute notices. Most of the times our college don't give us a prior notice but informs us just the day prior to the event
Not always but many a times the study materials are provided very late
Combined classes cause a problem at times. Because our classes rooms are not so big to accommodate 120+ poepo

Admission:

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)

The other college which I applied was basically outside of west bengal but didn't go because of the distance and the admission process was too long this college the procedure was smooth enough helping in each and every steps

Campus Life, easy and fun.

Likes

I love the campus environment, which is very pretty and calming, not in chaos.
Students are cooperative as well as the teachers, they help a lot.
Campus is neat and we'll maintained. Labs are fine too with everything needed, placed.

Dislikes

Library should provide more and detailed books.
The cafeteria should try making the food a bit tasteful
Should provide holidays, a bit. We often are busy studying, always.

Admission:

I actually applied for NEET and had a backup option here. I was nervous at first but this turned out to be great for me and i love it here. I was targeting too at manipal university but it's out of state and I didn't get permission for it

Campus Chronicles : Unveiling the True College Experience

Likes

Firstly, one thing of my university I appreciate the most is that it provides interaction of students from different courses.
Secondly,is the free interaction and availability of faculties in times of need . In my course faculties provide both classroom lectures and practical demonstration( application of our knowledge of law) in real time through Moot Courts, debates etc.
Thirdly, the campus is an open air campus with a lush green field in middle of the campus for students to relax and share thoughts and interact.

Dislikes

One thing which can be improved opening more counters for fees payment to cut the line short.

Admission:

I applied for other colleges as well like Amity University and Adamas University and other colleges as well but I choose Sister Nivedita University because the institution offers a curriculum that is in line with the industry and places a strong emphasis on research and academics that are integrated with technology. I didn't have a appear for any formal interview process due to my 90 above marks in both 10&12 boards. Plus I received a scholarship of 75%. I only appeared for CLAT examination for the this course.

Days well spent.

Likes

The faculty was very supportive and understanding, the campus was clean.
Other benefits were also provided which was a seminar hall, a library, a basket ball court, a canteen, a cafe.
The academics were never compromised. Transportation was also decent.

Dislikes

There were less events and fest organise by the college.
The lifts were less with respect to students in the campus, we need to stand in a long queue mostly in examination times.
Placements for some departments can be increased.

I had applied to various colleges like Bethune College, Presidency University, and Shri Sikhshayatan College. I got confirmed admission in one of the colleges, but I chose this one because of their exam structure, the curriculum. I did not make it to some of the colleges because of the cutoffs.

Faculty members are extremelly helpful and talented.
It has a small beautiful campus with good infrastructure.

Dislikes

There are very less no. of students in dept. of natural sciences like chem,physics, maths and statistics.

Admission:

I applied to many other colleges but ended up choosing this one because of a list of reasons. i couldnt make it to St. Xaviers clg bcoz my marks were not up to the marks (95%+) . Sister Nivedita clg is located in new town, which is a very good location compared to other places in kolkata in terms of so many things. also, many of my school friends took admission in this clg only. this clg have so many courses (85+).

Few faculties very and supportive during the whole tenure.
Lot's of good friends is in the university.
Lot's of social occasion is enjoyed in the campus.

Dislikes

Faculties are changed continuously over time.
Curriculum are changed lot of times during semester.
Syllabus is not clearly defined at the semester.

I got other universities all in other states but this university is within the State and near from my home that's why I chose this college. College comes under Techno India Group that's why I chose this college.

Fun life of college

Likes

The faculty teachers , experience , expertise the way they teach
The infrastructure is also nice , there is testing system for all students
The campus is very big .our campus also have canteen

Dislikes

The teachers are sometimes rude towards the student
Some of the building of our college is still under construction
There is water stacked in front of the main gate

Admission:

This college is really good for arts students, and when I was in school they did a campaign in our school that motivated me to join this particular college .and the faculty members are also nice compare to others
