The admission process for the university's design course involves an online application, document verification, an entrance exam focused on design basics, and a Personal Interview (PI) round, all held in June. An applicant learned about the university through a creative workshop led by university faculty at an art coaching academy in Chandigarh. The campus visit allowed exploration of facilities and interaction with faculty members before participating in a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) post-exam.
The faculty, particularly in Fashion Design, are praised for being skilled, approachable, and supportive of student creativity. The dean is noted for their experience and motivation. The college conducts doubt sessions after lectures to enrich learning. The annual tuition fee for the fashion department is INR 2.5 lakhs, with additional costs for bus transportation at INR 23,000 per year, materials, and personal expenses like dining, which is about INR 2,000 monthly.
The Master's in Design program costs INR 5 lakhs, payable in two installments. Placement opportunities are not yet available as no batches have graduated. Students initially seek internships independently, with college assistance if needed. A student secured a 50% scholarship by ranking 214 in NIFT and having an 86.5% graduation percentile, completing the scholarship form during the entrance exam application process.
