IIT Dharwad: Potential to be best among iits.

Likes

Being a new college it is clean, infrastructure is brand new.
There is good natural environment. That is forest area of around 60 acres

Dislikes

Management is not good yet being a new college.
There are no sports grounds in permanent campus yet.
Transportation is a major issue to reach college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Its mentored by IIT Bombay and has a very similar curriculum which was the reason to chose iit Dharwad. In the first year every branch has the same curriculum. Curriculum (especially lab courses) really make us industry-ready. Everyone can choose elective courses from other branches if they wish to learn from different branches. Still, there are very few branches to date so that students can get diversified courses. Exams are moderately difficult and conducted 2 times in the semester

My Campus

Likes

I like the hostel facilities provided it is really nice of being in this hostel.
As it is new campus the building are good.
Curriculum is good and if I study properly the cpi will be nice

Dislikes

This is a campus under construction so everything not completely set.
The infrastructure is not so good and facilities are having ups and downs.
No proper sports facilities available in the campus.

Placement Experience:

My campus placements are not so good mainly for my branch the avg is so low that I couldn't imagine my job offer without proper cpi.Only 60% of students are being placed remaining all should apply by there own to owe a job.

I liked here to breakfast, tiffin is good.
Here badminton courts are good we can go to their any time.

Dislikes

For playing we have to go walmi campus,in permanent campus only indore facility available.

Placement Experience:

From the 7 semester students will be eligible for campus placement. Sterlite, idrive, lgsoft. 6000000 is the highest package, and the average package is 1400000 for Sterlite. 99 percent of students are getting placements. I want to get a job at least 30 to 40 lakhs. I am in my first year so I will do that.

Likes

great experience here , we have well developed infrastructure and all the equipment here is new and advanced.
professor are very friendly ,also we don't have any communication gap , they help us clearing our all doubt
here Placement cell constantly organizes contest for boosting ours skills

Dislikes

Not hundred percentage on campus placement. It is around 80%.
Grading is little bit con fusing. and physical library is not present in the permanent campus
we don't have proper connection with the city . i.e Transportation is little difficult.

Placement Experience:

pros:- 1. We have a placement cell for helping student get good offer from there favorite company. 2. Placement cell constantly organizes contest for boosting ours skills. 3. Looks for different companies come campus. 4. helps with internship. cons:- 1. Not hundred percentage on campus placement. It is around 80%. 2. Very high paying companies or carrier oriented company are very less.

My best 4 years

Likes

I like my hostel, campus and the nescafe coffe centre near my branch class
I like my friends who is from punjab and haryana
I like my seniors who supports me in every situation its will be academic, finacial or many

Dislikes

I disliked the attendance system in our college that is 75 percent
I dislike the timing of coming and going in hostel

Placement Experience:

Placements will be happen in the last 4th year so not a proper idea but as we hear from our seniors it quite an easy process and mainly everyone gets a job yeah that thing is different someone gets low average or someone gets high value but that depends on cgpa and skills

Likes

Second is faculty support to the student
Third is infrastructure which is advanced

Dislikes

When we are in room , there is signal problem, we won't get signal
And in some days , there will be frequent power cut but not always
Distance between hostel and classroom is a bit long , we need to walk

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum was pretty good , it was not that hard to study. Faculty members are very supportive, and helpful They guide to our career very much. We need to concentrate to the course curriculum to succeed in our life

Facts about IIT dharwad

Likes

Good environment and good climate, here it is cool comparatively my Village
Encouragement in other activities like dance,music ,etc
Faculty are friendly in nature. They help us in many purposes

Dislikes

Here food is not good as I expected.but sometimes it is okay
As this is new campus.so much dust is accumulated here
I got infection because of water here. But it is not permanent issue is solved

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements.there are many companies like Google, hp ,Infosys , etc and around 300 offers made last year .here highest package is 60 lakh and average package is 1500000. Almost 80% students get placements here .I am going to study for IAS

college atmosphere is very nice .it will cool all the time
hostels are very nice because we are shifted to new campus.
we are the first batch to stay in the new campus

Dislikes

i dont like the curriculum of this college they have to improve it .
the food is not nice in this college.they have change the food.
there are no proper resources in our college.they have to improve resources in our college

Placement Experience:

students will be eligible for campus placements after fifth semester in our college. only some companies visited our college and they should improve our college placements. highest package is 54 lakhs per annum. and average package id 16 lakhs per annum. 65% or 70% of students are getting placed. i have no plans yet

I like hostel environment,our beautiful classes
And I like the climate of iit dharwad I found so many peacocks here
I can focus on my photography skills cause I find so many creatures here

Dislikes

I don't like food here, cause it is not much spicy
I don't like semister period here ,it is too short
I don't like curriculum cause it is like hectic

I have choosen this course because it is interesting .I love the domain of electrical engineering.mostly our faculty is from top universities like iit Bombay.term exams are regularly conducted as per academic staff.

Likes

I liked things like some fests events etc.
Hostel rooms are a bit good . We can experience a good college life.
The atmosphere here is cool and so good.

Dislikes

I dislike the unavailablity of facilities in this campus.
I dislike the food here served in the mess.
I dislike the curriculum here the semister is too short.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Based on my ranking I got this course. There will be separate faculty for each course. All the teachers are from the best institutions. Exams are most frequently conducted based on teachers. It's very difficult to get good grades.
