MRSPTU B.Tech Electrical Engineering: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Bachelor of Technology specialization in Electrical Engineering is a 4 years degree course. The eligibility of admission in this course is 10+2 pass or equivalent from a recognized board or university. Electrical engineering is one of the most sought after branches of engineering. Admission to this course is done through either entrance exams conducted at national and state level or on merit based on qualifying exam. Average fees for this course in most of the engineering colleges in India vary from 4 to 10 Lakhs.

Electrical Engineers have job opportunities in both private and public sectors. i) Passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central/state government through a legislation and a member of Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi with Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology / Electronics/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices / Technical Vocational Subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (Any of three) as per the AICTE Approval Process Handbook 2024-25. Obtained atleast 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category)in the above subject taken together.

Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering) OR

Those candidates who have passed minimum 3 years diploma examination from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & industrial Training, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), or any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education with atleast 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the first Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. (The Universities will offer suitable Bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Drawing etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to prepare Level playing field and desired learning outcomes of the Programme).OR

The candidates who have passed two years’ certificate course from Sant Longowal institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.

(ii) The candidates whose results are not declared / pending (due to whatsoever reason) in the qualifying examination, shall also be eligible to appear for counseling. The admission of such candidates shall be purely provisional and shall stand cancelled, if they fail to produce their eligibility at the time of admission and such candidates shall have no claim, whatsoever, for admission to these courses through Counselling.

• Online/Direct online Counselling based on Three-Year Diploma merit after exhausting JEE (Main) Rank Candidates.
• Online/Direct online Counselling based on Two Year Certificate Course of SLIET merit after exhausting above Diploma Merit.
• Online/Direct online Counselling based on 10+2 Merit after exhausting JEE (Main) Rank & Diploma Candidates.
