Our annual techno-cultural fest meraz is best of all however it is yet to bring huge celebrities.
The hostel facilities are very good as the rooms are very well maintained with proper ventilation and acs.
The course curriculum here is comprehensive and forward-thinking, strongly emphasising interdisciplinary learning.

Dislikes

The seniors over action and they over react for every stuff without listening to others and name us bad infornt of everyone
Lack of sports culture in the campus due to studious students
Not alot but there's a bit of politics over here where the heads try to incubate their own people

IIT Bhilai College Review

Sports facilities were good. Multiple sport facilities were available like cricket, football, badminton, table tennis.
There were many clubs like Designing clubs, robotics club, singing and dancing club and coding club. Due to this the extracurricular activities were quite good.
The infrastructure and teachers were good.

Dislikes

Some classes were having 1-2 hour gaps which were not always favourable.
Less transparency in the club contest which sometimes does not result in appropriate winner
exam schedule was quite hectic. some day 3 exams per day and sometime 1 exam per day.

Placement Experience:

the placements are decent. From 7th semester students become eligible for placement. Some of the companies like hexaware and Infosys visited and around 150 offers were made. highest were 48 lakh/annum offered by Accenture and average is of 1000000/annum which is more or less same for all department. 65 percent student got placed I am also in working profession

Being an IIT the college provides very good faculty and infrastructure. the faculty here are masters of their field all from prestigious institutes from all over world. They all very supportive and always ready to help the students.
We have a state of the art infrastructure. Hostels rooms have AC. The academic complex is fully air conditioned. We have a common mess for boys and girls and the food quality is also good if compared to other government colleges.
The crowd here is amazing. There are students here from almost all parts of the country. All are very hard working and supportive too. We get to learn a lot about their culture and their experiences.

Dislikes

The gender ratio is 1:4 (boys:girls). This is not clearly good but improving over time.
As we shifted to the permanent campus in 2022 so many facilities are still under in process. Especially the sports part. Currently it is not up to the mark but improving a lot over time.
Sometimes it become quite difficult to handle the academics and the versatile extra curriculum activities simultaneously but it can be handled with proper time table and management.

Placement Experience:

Students here are provided with internships and placements opprotunities in various core and non core sectors. Placements are provided in consulting, IT, technical, finance, analytics, management, teaching and research sectors. Highest and average packages offered were 48 and 13 lacks respectively. Major companies are Accenture Japan, Deloitte, Winjit, siemens, nvidia, tesco, mahindra and mahindra, tata autocomp, HCL, TCS, L&T ,etc. After BTECH many students opt for higher studies.

COMPARED TO OLDER IITS THIS IS NOT A DEVOLOPED AREA AND TRANSPORT IS THE MAJOR ISSUE

Placement Experience:

PLACEMENTS IN IIT BHILAI ARE IMPRSSIVE WITH STEADY INCREASE IN BOTH THE NUMBER OF RECUITERS AND SALARY PACKAGE OFFERED THE AVERAGE SALARY PACKAGE FOR RECENT BATCHES IS AROUND 14 LPA INR WITH TOP OFFERS TO 48 LPA THE PLACEMENT CELL IS PROACTIVE ,ENSURING THAT STUDENTS ARE WELL PREPARED THROUGH MOCK INTERVIEWS ,RESUME WORK SHOPS AND INTER SHIP OPPURTUNITES

The environment her is very amazing.You enjoy diversity here,you see and meet people from different regions which different cultures,practices and different languages because IITs are national platforms where you find students across India.
You get a lot of opportunities to grow.You get opportunities to work on projects under professors in your interested field.You get research papers to work on if you are interested.You also form hackathon groups with most eligible candidates here.
Not only studies,you find the other side i.e., the entertaining side also very amazing.Generally IITs have a lot of clubs like Art,Dance,Singing,Drama and many, and you get chance to enjoy that part too.Also you find great sports facilities,InterIIT.

Dislikes

Mess food.Students here really need some good quality and non repetitive food.Mess always serves same curries a lot of time and we are fed up of this.
As IIT Bhilai is a 3rd gen IIT,the sports facilities here are not up to the mark.They are well enough but need much more improvement.Some sports like football,Athletics don't have their own ground and the players go out of the campus for the practice
Placements.As still there is some recession effect,you can see some decrease in the number of placement opportunities and thus students are suffering a little but this is the same scenario in many colleges ig.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in 4th year 1st sem itself and for that students have to have some given minimum cgpa and least given number of active backlogs. We do get companies for placements from different places and domains. We get placement offers from Luminous, Hindustan petroleum,ICICI,Nvdia,I'm beside you etc. Highest package was 60 lakhs per annum and 16 lakhs is the average package going on. Approx 50 to 65% of the batch gets places by the end of the placements procedure. Once my degree is done,either I would work in a company or would go for further studies of MBA.

Slow people really takes time but it doesn't mean that they can't grabs opportunities, if you are a men no one can stop.

Likes

The things that i liked in IIT bhilai:- Hostels are of very excellent quality, Table lamps, Air conditioner, table chair's all are very good infrastructure. And excellent wifi, lift's are also established in the hostel.
Rooms are very big for 2 seaters and 1 seaters
You can play easily cricket in the hostel itself😂..!! And excellent toilets and bathroom.

Dislikes

So this is a new IIT i don't thing is there is cons for the hostel. Because they recently made and with very good infrastructure.

Placement Experience:

From after 6-7th sem students are eligible for placement. Google, Amazon,TCS, mahindra, Zomato, Allen, PW, K12, flipcart , OYO, Etc. A top-notch firm visit the IIT bhilai and take the students. Mostly the placement happened in Delhi, bangalore, hyderabad, Gurgaon, pune, chandigarh and foreign like in japan , Australia, USA etc. In electrical 80-85% students are placed.

My life at iit bhilai

Likes

Here the environment is soo good like the surroundinga is lush green and there are few lakes in the campus
Hostels are preety good they have ac's in every room
Study culture here is very good and peers are supportive

Dislikes

Its locates in bhilai which is a small city and not everything is available here
Few courses that are not much useful but are compulsory for everyone
Placements are not that good considering its a iit

Placement Experience:

Placements are preety decent compared to other colleges and offers are nice and there are diversity in the roles offered for the Placements you can also opt for any other options like higher studies and if you have skills for a hobby to make it fulltime go for it also the startup culture is niceee

Campus has a good environment.Things are good, even seniors are a bit friendly ,I get to know about people from different States in India, i started learning different languages,there culture and prosperity.
The hostel bed is fine comfortable, people come to clean it everyday. They make sure that everything is going well.
The garden and different kinds of plants around the campus make me feel pure and safe.The cafes inside the campus are also good we don't need to go out.

Dislikes

The seniors over action and they over react for every stuff without listening to others and name us bad infornt of everyone
The professors are not that much into the subj which they belong to , they keep on telling fast where we are able to understand or not I don't understand
The workers in the hostel robbery our money ,they literally come to our room's when we r not present and take off money from our purses not even leaving a single penny of coin

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are so bad . Non company comes for campus interview, out campus is not that much bad also when compared to others. People only go to colleges with high ranking and proper names which are very much famous. The highest average package is 24Lakhs , the lowest is 5lakhs per annum

Hostels are fully aur conditioned and well maintained
Quality of mess food is better than other colleges
Professors are nice and friendly, they even come to.play badminton with us

Dislikes

Sports complex is not built till now and it is under process
Placements are not so attractive being a new iit
Improvement in sports facilities can be expected in future

Placement Experience:

Companies such as Google, Microsoft, nvidia etc visit campus and take few students . Other companies like Deloitte , air india etc also visit the campus. Highest packages are offered by Accenture Japan ~48 lakh / annum for sde profile and average package is around 12 lpa here . Around 70% of the students get placed. My plans include getting into iim first and then to have a job after mba .

real IIT Bhilai

as IIT Bhilai is a new IIT so the infrastructure is really advanced and beautiful and it comes with new and latest facilities
The mechanical domain of this college is really nice and the campus is equipped with very advanced experimental facilities
as the batch size compared to older iits is smaller here the focus is on each student and their personal growth and preparing them for the future

Dislikes

I think the exposure here is limited because it is a new gen iit but soon it will be sorted

Placement Experience:

from 7th sem the students become eligible for college placements and i cannot recall any company that visited and did not make any offer . recently google came to our college for both internship and campus placement . highest placement this season is around 60lpa yet and it might also go up and the avg package is around 1000000 more than 80% of the students that sits in the placement drive gets placed. i am also trying to get placed next year from campus as this is my third year

I liked the lack of population here which helps us learn more and participate more effectively
I liked Air conditioned hostels which were provided in this severe hot climate of bhilai.

Placement scenerio is pretty nice compared to the other third gen IITs. All the placement stats are also available at the college site and we provide with student brochure at the beginning of the odd semesters which includes all the details.

Life at IIT Bhilai is great.

The labs are open 24*7 for access, and the annual techno-cultural fest of IIT Bhilai ‘Meraz’ is the biggest in Chhattisgarh. It takes place after 1st tierce exams, which are held in September. The hostels have recreational rooms with TV, TT tables and Carrom Boards. Badminton courts are also available for hostellers. There are plenty of clubs at IIT Bhilai, like the Electronics Club (Electromos), the Dance Club, the Music Club, etc. You can apply for any of these.

Apart from the fest, Inter IIT competitions and Diwali celebrations take place during odd semesters. The highlight of even semesters is Prayatna, the Inter-College Sports League. It lasts for 2 months, and is a lot of fun. You can either participate in the league or cheer for your friends. The college also hosts Smart India Hackathon and Cult Night in which the Music, Dance and Dramatics Clubs showcase their talent. Then, there are Holi Celebrations.

No college is boring, be it IIT Dharwad or IIT Bhilai. Each place has its own clubs and societies. It totally depends on you whether you spend your time sitting in the hostel room, or participate in various college activities.
