Course Curriculum Overview

4

so i chose mechanical engineering because of my interest in physics and i have enjoyed my time studying complicated physics problems and also the mech faculty here is just amazing they make things look easy and give a critical insight on industry lever. the college has tieups with several industry leader to make the content relevant and they also conduct master classes which is taken by those industry leaders and hence it becomes more easy for a student to pick his or her stream and get prepared for the industry level work. more practical work can be introduced to make things more accurate and relevent although it is quite relevant but improvement is always needed. the frequency of exams is not at all large we just have 2 main exams and the rest of the time can be used to upgrade your skills through projects and internships

Internships Opportunities

3

internship oppertunities are still growing and with time on campus internship will really hike this year companies like google and nvidia came for internship hiring. you should have a good command on your skills and projects. you can also take projects under prof for learning new skills

Placement Experience

3

from 7th sem the students become eligible for college placements and i cannot recall any company that visited and did not make any offer . recently google came to our college for both internship and campus placement . highest placement this season is around 60lpa yet and it might also go up and the avg package is around 1000000 more than 80% of the students that sits in the placement drive gets placed. i am also trying to get placed next year from campus as this is my third year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for IIT Bhilai's Btech program is divided into various components , including one time feesm refundable deposits, semester fees, hostel fees, and welfare funds. Here's a breakdown of the fee structure. 1)one-time fees admission fee = 500 id card and certificate fee = 1000 library fee = 500 celebration fee = 1000 training and placement = 1000 Alumini Fee = 3000 total one-time fee = 7000 2) Refundable deposits caution money = 7000 3) semester fee(per semester) academic registration = 500 tuition fee = 100000 student council fee = 2500 medical fee = 1125 other fees = 6000 student welfare fund = 1000 total semester fee = 1,11,125 4) hostel fee hostel admission fee = 500 hostel seat rent = 2475 establishment fee = 10700 dining fee = 23200 total hostel fee = 36875 5)total fees(new student) -M semester = 163000 -w semester = 163000 -s semester = 48250 6) scholarship and aid sc/st/ph = full waiver in tuition fee

Campus Life

3.5

so the annual techno cultural fest of iit bhilai is Meraz and it is held in november -december and it is a great fest for both tech and cultural events we invite so many well known people for different sessions and so many celebs comes and perform for the cultural events. so there are a lot of books in the library basically it full fills the needs of the students. so as i mentioned that it is new gen iit so the tech used everywhere is latest. sports is still growing as the campus is taking shape in coming years it will be at peak

Hostel Facilities

3.5

sp the hostel is very good and there are so many good things in the hostel to keep the student intact and makes them feel like home and the meal provided is of nice quality. registration for hostel is done at the time of admission only and it is very smooth and as a btech student we cannot rent or take a pg outside of the campus

Admission

i applied to older iits but could not get there because of my rank in jee advanced i got a confirmed admission in bits pilani but i was never interested in joining a private college i always wanted an iitian tag on me and that is why joined iit bhilai, my college takes admission through jee advance rank and JOSA. the overall experince is smooth and cutoff for getting a general seat in this college is around Air 15000

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ratio is lesser compared to other colleges as it is a new gen iit it is around (1:40), personally i am in mechanical engineering so the faculty there is just amazing and they have indepth knowledge of their respective stream. i have been personally very inspired by Dr. Rahul Jain (ast.prof manufacturing and mechanical) he is one of the top prof of our college and his grasp on his stream is commendable. there is no such faculty that i did not like. so basically there are 2 major exams which is the mid-sem and end-sem and there are some quizes in between depending on the faculty taking the course. the level of the exams are accurate to what is taught in the course classes which can me moderate to hard. the failing percentage vary through out the courses but on an average it is lesser than 5% the course curriculum is pretty relevant according to industry needs

Placement Experience:

We can do internships after 1st year and 2nd but for the placement it's in 4th year. The training and placement cell of the college has work consistently to bring reputated companies like a TCS Wipro Infosys LNT Infotech etc. the medium package for uses students is like 4 lakh per annum and PG students was about 4 to 5 lakh per annum. However when compared with some of the top tile institutions the package levels and placement percentage highlight the student themselves me to bridge through internship of campus drive and additional certifications. Another noticeable trend is that placements 10 to be more favourable for the branches like computer science and information technology where are School branches of an face lower absorption rates which is common in many engineering colleges. But here off campus placement are really good

Placement scenario is so good as per the stats . Like students are eligible for placements from there 7th sem . No. Of companies visited is around 200 (guess). Offers made 600(guess) . Highest package is 65 lpa , and average package is 9 lpa there are major two roles one is core engineering get role and other is non core data analyst role . 86 % students are placed last year . My plan is to get good placements from college itself and then after experience I will go for MBA or higher studies .

Course curriculum is very outdated and here the facilities more practical and they believe that if you want you can do other field like non-technical fields and something like government exam. There course or syllabus is not industrial ready.

Internship for the third and final year students, but not paid mostly. Placements are very few, don't expect placement from any government college in Chhattisgarh. Work on your skill. Companies like Adani came for placement for Mtech mining students. Highest package is of 3.5 lpa, He works in Bangalore. Other students do master. I am working in my skills and I will try for off campus placement or I will go abroad for master or job.
