The Bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication at Amity University, Chhattisgarh, starts its admissions in June-July. Applicants must submit an online form and either upload an interview video or attend an in-person interview focusing on their interests and career goals. The university offers practical exposure, with classes from 9 AM to 5 PM, consisting of seven one-hour lectures daily. Faculty members, aged 29 to 50, are knowledgeable but sometimes lack practical expertise, except those in the Amity School of Communication.
Seminars with certifications are regularly held. The first-year tuition is 36,000 INR per semester, increasing to 40,000 INR in the second year and 48,000 INR in the third year. Scholarships based on 12th-grade scores can reduce these fees significantly. The total course fee over six semesters is 240,000 INR, with bus and hostel facilities costing an additional 60,000 INR each per year. Payments are made electronically; cash is not accepted.
Although on-campus placements for BA(J&MC) students are unavailable, the CRC aids in securing internships, which are compulsory each semester. Students have interned or been placed in organizations like Aaj Tak, Dainik Bhaskar, and PTI, with roles in content writing and PR. Placement success depends on individual skills. While the college is considered affordable, the absence of direct job placements has been a concern.
