Course Curriculum Overview

5

Talking about the curriculam, when I was taking admission here, a pdf was mailed to me which consisted of the course and curriculam of the B.A. Journalism & Mass Communication. As I gone through it, I was surprised that the syllabus was up-to-date with the current standards of the media industry. After spending 3 year of my adacemic life here at Amity, I learnt a lot of things, which I personally take advantage of in my professional life. I don't see any update required for the current course and syllabus. Talking about the exams and their frequency, we used to have a mid-term examination and an end-term examination every semester. These examinations were very responsible for our development.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was a average student when I was in school, so I was not granted for any scholarschip, but many were. If you have a percentage more than 75% in your 12th boards then you'll get a 25% scholarship during admission. If you have 85% and more than you can avail for 50% scholarschip. And, if you have 90% and above then you can have 100% scholarship. But there are some terms and conditions, if you are maintaining that score every semester then your scholarship will be retained otherwise you won't be getting scholarships further. Talking about the fees, I paid a total of Rs. 2,56,000 in total. It goes like this. For the 1st and 2nd semester you have to pay 38,000 each. For 3rd and 4th you will pay 40,000 both semesters. And, for 5th and 6th semsters, you will have to pay 42500 in each semesters. Apart from the tuition fees, 60,000 is the fees to avail bus facility. And, for accomodation (Hostel), one has to pay 60,000 yearly.

Campus Life

5

Amity's Annual Function - which is also known as Amispark, it happens once every year between the month of April and May. It's a 3 day techno-cultural fest where students organise different events in the campus. Apart from this, there are different events held every week in the campus by different departments. There's a huge auditorium in our campus where every kind of event can be taken place. We also have a library which consists of every book which a student requires for his/her studies. There are both Lecture Theatre's and Classrooms in our university, both are alloted in accordance to the number of students in a batch. The classrooms are well-equipped with the modern amineties like projector and wi-fi.

Admission

It was the time of pandemic when I took admission here at Amity. At the time, there was no as such crietria for taking an admission as there were very few students who applied for the B.A. Mass Communication and Journalism course. We only had 26 students in our batch so you can assume that there was no criteria as such. For taking admission, I visited Amity Raipur's website where I put my information and the admission department called me instantly as soon as I registered my contact details in their website. There was no such application during the time of admission. The exams were easy to appear for. I used to attend the classes regularly so I didn't have to study a lot during the exams time, as whatever our faculties used to teach us that was suffiecient to score good in the exams.

Faculty

5

Faculties at Amity School of Communication are the best in terms of their teaching style and the way they deliver the lecture. Both at theorotical and practical aspects, the faculties never failed to deliver. I learnt a lot of things from them. They were well qualified and were too well behaved. In my case, I never faced any problems with my faculties. Apart from our department, few faculties were very misbehaving, I don't know what issue they had with the students. In my department, we used to have regular classes, So we had a daily interaction with our faculties. They would never hesitate while we needed help, be it academially or personally. They used to hear us. I would never get such acadmecians ever in my life I think.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the final semester onwards. Renowned companies such as Dainik Bhaskar and Navbharat Times visit the campus, offering placements to smart and bright students. The average salary offered is 40,000 monthly, with the highest package reaching 7 lakh per annum. The placement rate stands at around 40%. For those not immediately placed, the college provides support for employability. Personally, I plan to pursue further studies or explore internship opportunities to gain practical experience in my field of interest.
