Shrishti Sinha's Review On Amity University, Raipur

1.I applied to Rungta college before andi got the admission but it was in very outer area. Going there was only possible if you are availing the college bus.If somehow you missed the bus than you have no option to travel.whole way to the college was covered with big trees like a forest so it was not safe. 2.I think Amity university is best college in Chattisgarh for business student and it also has a brand name.so I choose this college over others. 3.I didn't get rejection from any college but I left Rungta college,Raipur due their location and poor infrastructure. 4.we can take online admission through college website also or we can visit the campus and get admission through admission department.there are admission counsellors who will take you to campus visit and clear all your doubt.eligibily for MBA students is CAT,MAT,CMAT,and other MBA entrance program.cutoff is 60%for cat students and you can also give Amity entrance exam for taking admission (test+interview).

1.Total 60 students seats in one section and there are 2 Sections for MBA .total strength is 100-120. 2.Girls to boys ratio is equal in class and college. 3.students come here from different states. Mostly are from CG and Orissa. Others are from jharkhand, Bihar and Maharashtra. 4.there are good peer groups in classroom . Students are engaged in fun activities in group during their gap periods. 5. We get internal marks each sem based on our class performances. 6.teachers takes classes properly but most students come only for attendance as 75%attendance is mandatory.some come for enjoying with their friends group.

Internship is not provided by the college but you have to get internship anyhow as it has some marks in your second sem. It is counted as a compulsory subject and you have to provide a report so it is compulsory to get internship.

Final placement starts during final semester and it goes till the semester is over.every student doesn't get placed but 50%of people get placed .average CTC is 6-7lakh . highest CTC is 12lakh and lowest is 3.5 lakh.

1.tuition fees is 1,20,000 per sem for MBA,Hostel fees is 60,000 per year +10,000deposit, Mess fees-3,600 per month, bus charges are 40,000 per year. 2.collge also provides scholarship on the basis of your MBA entrance exam scores and your UG marks.you can also get 100%scholarship for the 1st year and from next year it will be dependent on your college academic performance.So your whole fees depends on your scholarship. 3.collge fees is higher than average fees of colleges in Chattisgarh. 4.if you are a hosteller and you want to go for outing than you will only have to pay Rs.30 to city bus to go to Raipur city.so it is very cheap. Otherwise you don't have to pay for anything in college unless you want to eat in cafeteria. 5. College provides scholarship for Sc/St domicile student . 6.collge provides scholarship on the basis of your MBA entrance exam scores and your UG marks.you can also get 100%scholarship for the 1st year and from next year it will be dependent on your college academic performance.

College have some sports facilities and an annual sports competition also occurs. For outdoor games we have vollyball court , basketball court and kho kho pole. For indoor we have table tennis. College also has one gym for hostel student and every hosteller can go there. All the gym equipment is available there . Campus doesn't have swimming pool. There is one library and auditorium in the campus. Books are easily available and library is open till college time that is from 9am to 5 Pm. College campus is big but you can go from hostel to academic block by walking.there is no need of any vehicle. It is allowed to keep your personal vehicle in college campus and it has a parking area to keep your vehicle safe. Relatives that visit the campus can't stay in hostel. There are no other food joints apart from canteen and mess. College has a medical room and ambulance in the premises. If any emergency happens the ambulance will take student to the nearby hospital.Overall campus life is good. Cafeteria is not open in night time.you can roam in campus garden in your free time or go to library or play games.you can go out of campus with your parents permission.the famous spot to hang out is Raipur city and kharora village as transportation is easily available. Locality is not so safe to roam during night outside the campus as it is villege area.Annual techno cultural fest occurs every year called amispark but no celebrity comes . There are many clubs to join and student exchange programs and international immersion also occurs but you have to pay the fees .

There are seperate girls hostel and boys hostel and boys are not allowed to enter into girls hostel and vice versa. Girls hostel has more strength than boys hostel and both have the room rooms . Hostel allocation is on first come first serve basis.try to get hostel during admission process. Hostel fees is 60,000 yearly and there is additional mess charge paid on monthly basis. Hostel students can go for outing with their parents permission and warden permitted outpass and that have to come to hostel before 7pm. Fooding is not included in hostel fees. There is a mess/canteen area in both boys and girls hostel seperate and there are mess timings and menu routine that are followed.hostel is guarded and there is one hostel warden plus faculties are allocated to see hostel duties .There are only sharing rooms in amity.one person can share room with 4 people. There are chairs, study table, bed and matress.we don't have Ac in every room but you can choose Ac room if you want. You can buy cooler and place it in your room but you have to pay the electricity bill quality of material are fine. There is attached washroom and bathroom but it is common for the roommates you live with.hostel rooms are cleaned everyday and hygiene is maintained. If you are not staying in hostel then you can also opt for pg near amity college that is kharora villege. There are many pgs and they provide tiffin services also. Kharora also has some grocery stores and dhabas where you can buy groceries and eat.

You can take online admission through college website and you can also come to the college and visit the campus and take admission through admission department.Admission councillor will solve all your queries.Admission is done by checking your MBA entrance exam scores. If you got more than 60%in CAT or other entrance exams than you will get direct admission otherwise you have to give Amity entrance exam(test+interview)that you can give online also. For test the syllabus is same as CAT exam and for interview they will just see your personality and ask basic questions about your education and carrier preferences.

The course curriculum is quite average and not difficult in my opinion only a very few students fail in the examinations ( around 2% probably). The good aspects of the course is that a person can get placed in corporate world at an early stage or can pursue higher studies like MBA but the bad aspect is that it is not a very high demanding course in the market and has a high fee structure in many universities. The classes start from 8 for morning batch and around 10 for evening batch, there are almost 4-5 classes a day and generally all the classes are conducted continuously without any break. The faculties rely more on theoretical way of teaching. I admire radhika mam, anuj sir and ruchi shukla mam as these teachers are the one's that really love to talk and interact to us students and have friendly nature. There is a 80% mandatory attendance requirement but is not really required on ground level. Even if a student has around 50% attendance it will workout for that student. I once had around 10% attendance in a semester but since i had medical reasons the college gave me relaxation by submitting a medical certificate.
