One of the most famous festival here is the varsity week books and journals could be availed from the library easily the management should work on developing the class into smart classes sports area need an improvement
There's a lot of opportunities for like scholarships like ishan uday scholarship (54000 inr per annum) and ews scholarship (2000inr per annum.
The completion of the course, the opportunities increase and the students either get placement opportunities in government services or in private companies.

Dislikes

No bus service. transportation of the students is a difficult task as there is no bus facility.
No closed campus which is slight disturbing for the students to visit department tp department throughout a busy city
The environment of the university is very poor as it is a open campus. also the campus is too small to proper administration.

Cotton university the oldest university in the North east

Likes

Sports and extra curricular activies are often enjoyed
The library is very beneficial for research works
Our college has very open campuses and there will be new upcoming building constructions.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is a little bit weak. Buildings should be painted more and colored
Hostel rooms are very less , rooms are very small
Toilets are very dirty and incomplete, plus water is not abundant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like to learn new languages thats why i chose this course. The curriculum prepares a student in a very proper way that he understands for further academic pursuits. The course improvement that can be done is to minimise the syllabus and include only the relevant parts that are needed for the exams. Teachers should come regular to teach new things. Frequency and timing of exams are fine enough, but sometimes the exam paper should carry only relevant questions from the syllabus.

The surroundings and the environment which is there
The seniors,they help in everything. They try to make sure that we are not facing any problems
Teachers because of their communication skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate 9 out of 10 the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. I like about biology very much that's why I choosed this course. Biotechnology help us to solve problems and make useful harvesting,it increases sustainable food production through genetically modified crops. They held exams very frequently and the level of exams are not very difficult

The teaching methods of a few good professors.
Culturally active, focuses on extra-curricular activities
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell, PACCC

Dislikes

No proper place for the students to rest or seat during free periods.
The auditorium is too small for the students.
The dirty politics and the boysespecially fighting for power

Placement Experience:

From the UG 6th to PG 4th semesters the students become eligible for campus placements. Reserve Bank of India and other banks like ICICI Bank visits our college for giving placements. Two to Three lakhs per year. 7.5 - 8.5 CGPA scoring students. Take a coaching to appear in Civil Service exams

My 1 year experience at Cotton University

Likes

I like playing volleyball. I was a national player of volleyball team under 19 girls in my school time.
I like going out with friends during evening for tea break.
I like travel into new places. Recently i visited Meghalaya.

Dislikes

There is very rare things that i don't like.
I dont like being extrovert to everyone.
I dont like mutton curry. I got one different smell of that that's why i don't like it.

I want to do research in life science in future for that i choosed this course. I had lots of interest in life science since from my school days. I really enjoying biotechnology course at cotton university.

College canteens with variety foods many items
College teachers with good skills of teaching
Environment college campus with many friends and good classes

Dislikes

Girls' common room with small area with less fans
Washroom with less number and not clean with sticky
Small class room less branches and more fans

- history is the subject that with got to know all about the past society and there cultural tradition - they were good -more available facilities with more bench and fan -timing for the exam in sessional exam with get 1 and half hour and in other with get 3 hrs in final

Behind the college wall

Likes

Our college have a big library which we can find all the books required
We dont have to pay fees because of our BPL card which is really helpful and mindful of our college
It have a big campus and provide us with all the necessary required in our studies

Dislikes

Too much program are held in the college for examples fresher meet is held for department wise and again as a general which is too much sometimes
Faculty member is not really helpful as we need to do everything by our self
Classroom are not provided with proper facilities like fan and cleanliness

I have always wanted to become a professor so choosing this course was in my mind What really has influence me to choose this course is by seeing my elders It has all the possible facility through which we can learn n work on it Exams are held mostly aftr 2 months of classes and the level of difficult is tough

The environment of the campus us excellent ,the students are very friendly with each other ,whole campus has a livelihood mood its just amazing to be there and experience things first hand it really shows the different aspects in which we can excel
The university has top notch faculty the education there is commendable it really brings out the true potential of a student many great names in assam have graduated from cotton university and in north east it the most prestigious universities
In this university you meet all type of people and explore your personality and its a culturally rich university and coming here will open all aspects for you and your future this university will definitely guide you to success

Dislikes

The administration is not always good the timing of notices are in very unlikely hours,
The Mcb building there has only 2 bathrooms which makes it difficult to use the washrooms
As its an open campus there is too much traffic and were much noise in some classes but overall studying here will give a very good upliftment in your career

The course is great its have relevance in the comprehensive world the course start from the human evolution till the indian independence and the of its contemporary is also taught If a person is thinking of appearing in apsc upsc it is very relevent for them The mid is of 1 hours 30 min Amd the end term is of 3 hours

The faculty is good .The student teacher relationship is good and friendly.
The vicinity is clean and the environment is positive.
The canteen is good provides clean and hygienic food.

Dislikes

The equipment in the practical can be made more better.
The result announcement is a bit late than usual.
The convocation takes place late than it should be.

There is a placement cell in our college which brings campus placements and informs timely about them so that one can apply for it.People are selected on the basis of test given by the job requirements clearing which you can get offered the job.

Likes

It was friendly environment. We had great space where we can discuss things.
Professors were really good. They helped us in every situation.
It had a great space for cultural activities. If you are into cultural things it is indeed a great University.

Dislikes

Administrative was rude. They didn't listen to the problems of the students.
Scholarship facilities were also meagre. It really takes a lot of time to avail the benefits of scholarships.
Campus is too small. There is a lack of proper playground and health care facilities within campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was really a very dynamic and vibrant course. It included Indian history and Assam history. We had also paper on Gender , museum and archives. Courses were laid in a systematic manner, overall it was a great course.

COTTON UNIVERSITY - AN HONEST REVIEW

The university is extremely friendly in nature, The seniors are very supportive and listens to our problems
I'm from Economics department and teachers are quite supportive, they constantly tell us to approach them if we don't understand any concept. Thus the cooperation from our professors are phenomenal
The university is huge to explore, The campus is clean and has cafeteria to eat, sit and relax.

Dislikes

Lots of bugs and glitches while payment process leading to double payment and creating inconvenience for us
For some departments like history and political science and some other departments, it is difficult to expect marks even if we write our exams in satisfied manner
There are not many options in question paper unlike Guwahati University which gives lots of choices creating convenience for the students

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) 10/10 for economics, it's very practical and I can relate it with real life cases 2) it's tells us the economic theories and models related to real world and helps us grasp the concept through which we can shape our understanding of the real economy and real life cases 3) I feel like proper notes should be given by the professors in a definite manner and detailed syllabus with each specific topic must be given 4) our end sem exams are conducted on December and June. The difficulty depends upon our preparation. The difficulty is moderate
