SRM University Delhi NCR, Sonepat

Manipal University and SRM, Sonepat both are recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. While Manipal University ranked 8th out of 200 in the list of Top Universities in India by NIRF rankings, SRM has not been assessed by the same. Both the institutes have features that are unique to them and have their distinct advantages and limitations.

• MAHE: The institute offers a great number of facilities to its students, including 6 central libraries, hostels, Marena (sports complex), gym, labs, cafeteria, healthcare, transport, store, auditorium, wifi-campus, etc.

• SRM: The campus equips students with a number of facilities such as a central library and multiple institutional libraries, computer R&D or project labs, indoor and outdoor sports and an auditorium with a 1000-people accommodating capacity.

• MAHE: The university offers more than 15 scholarships such as ITC scholarships, SAGES, AGE Scholarships, etc.

• SRM: The SRM Scholar Search Programme helps meritorious and disadvantaged students finance their education at SRM University.

Placement Statistics

• MAHE: The highest and average packages offered were 22.38 LPA (B.Tech.) and 7.2 LPA (B.Tech.), respectively. The top recruiters include E&Y, GSK, Microsoft, DELL, SAP Labs, Amazon, etc.

• SRM: The highest and average packages offered were 12.5 LPA and 4.5 LPA, respectively. 500+ companies such as Google, HSBC, Microsoft, Philips, Capgemini, KPMG, etc, recruit SRM graduates.

• MAHE: Notable alumni of the institute include the likes of Rajeev Suri (CEO: Nokia), Satya Nadella (CEO: Microsoft), T.M.A. Pai (Doctor), etc.

Easwari Engineering College and SRM University are both well-known colleges of engineering in Chennai. Of the two, SRM University has more number of campuses spread across the country, hence one might expect a cosmopolitan crowd at the institute. SRM is a deemed university whereas Easwari Engineering College is affiliated to Anna University in Tamil Nadu.

Courses Offered:

SRM University- Some of the popular courses offered at SRM University (Ramapuram) include B. Tech, BSc, BCA, B. Com, MTech, MBA, etc. Admission for the various programs is through SRMJEE, GATE, SRMJEEM, CAT, etc.

Easwari Engineering College- It mainly offers courses based on engineering. Therefore, programs like B. Tech, B.E, M.E are more popular here. It also offers an MBA program and lateral programs in B.E and B. Tech. Admission to the engineering programs is through TENA and TANCET.

Placements:

SRM University (Ramapuram):

• About 8400 different students have been placed by the institute in 2019 alone.

• The college has about 625 different organizations visiting the institute every year.

• The highest pay package offered caps at INR 39 lakhs per annum with the average package clocking in at INR 4.8 lakhs per annum.

• Some of the companies visiting the institute include Hyundai, Honda, Michelin, Wipro, Cisco, HSBC, Google, and several others.

Easwari Engineering College:

• More than 300 companies visit the college annually and about 500+ students have been placed.

• The highest package offered at the institute is of INR 28 lakhs per annum.

• Accenture, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Google, Honeywell are a few of the several companies visiting the college.

Both colleges have near equal merit when it comes to placements. However, SRM University has a wider variety of courses. So, choose according to your preferences.

The Jain university holds the rank 85 among the top 100 universities in India by NIRF university rankings. The admission process of Jain university is also based on the entrance test. The name of the entrance exam is JET. The placement rate of the university is also very good.

SRM university holds a rank 36 among top universities issued by MHRD NIRF. About 97% of the students got placements. Admissions based on the JEE mains and the university also has an entrance known as SRMJEE. It is also known for its good faculty and infrastructure.

Admission process in SRM and Jain university:

SRM University- It offers around 56 courses in various disciplines.

• In SRM university admissions for undergraduate level are based on the merit of NEET/JEE.

• For graduate-level the scores of XAT/MAT/CMAT/GATE/CAT. Along with this counseling and interview Requirements are there.

• Students are required to complete their 12th by 50%.

Jain University- JU offers around 270 courses in UG and PG. The online application fee for the UG level is 600 INR and for the graduate-level, the fees are 1,050 INR.

• Admissions are fully based on the entrance test for both undergraduate and postgraduate. JET or Uni-GAUGE(entrance test) required for undergraduate and GATE or JET required for graduate level.

• With this students are also required to have at least 60% (55% for SC and ST) in 10+2 to apply for the undergraduate program. Math and physics should be there as primary subjects.

Placements:

SRM University-

• Companies like Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, etc visit the campus every year for placements.

• The average salary offered to a student at SRM University is 6.5 lakhs. And the highest salary package is about 12.50 lakh.

The infrastructure of SRM university is really good with air-conditioned classes, projectors, and good sound systems. There are medical facilities available in the campus. Teachers are also well experienced.

Jain University-

• Companies like Accenture, Britannia, Cap Gemini, Dell, Godrej, Infosys, JUSPAY, etc visit the campus every year for the placement drive.

• The average salary offered to students graduating from this university is 4.2 lakh and the highest salary package offered is 15 lakh.

The faculty and infrastructure of the university are pretty good. Teachers are well experienced, almost all classes are air-conditioned, equipped with projectors and good sound systems.

Both SRM and JU have their own advantages and disadvantages. So, choose according to your convenience.

Apart from a general BTech program in CSE, SRM Sonepat also offers 4 specializations within the CSE department, i.e. Cloud computing and Mobile Application Systems, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology, and Business Systems. Admissions:

• In order to be eligible students need 10+2 scores with at least 5 subjects with mandatory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

• The exam scores accepted by the institute are IPU CET, NEET, JEE Mains, SRMJEEE.

It has a total enrollment of 250 seats for the CSE department. The total course fee for CSE is 8.22 lakhs.
