Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Classrooms and the ambience of classrooms is very good 👍. Recently apple also visited our collage for final year students in the placement

Collage labs are very worse . Minimum amenities are not there and girls to boys ratio is also worst 👎 i guess its somewhere around 1:5
Some faculty are bad 👎 and outdated . Not upto the mark.
Fests and events are very bad. No sufficient budget is spent on them

From 7 th semester students are eligible for placements Google ,microsoft, BNY, Samsung, oracle, Infosys, pwc, hdfc, tcs, icici, axis and many more MNCs visit our campus in placement drive Previous year we got 500 above offers from small and big companies Highest is 50 lpa and average is 10 lpa overall 70 percentage of students get placements My plans is to join any company after degree But after corona the placement offers are very less as compared to before corona this might be issue in every collage

college circcucllum and college faculty members
we have so much freedom in our college and no ragging
here we have tutorial classes once a week to solve our doubts

Dislikes

hostel are very bad and they are always dirty
the main problem in our college is food
here the timings of labs are very hard for students

the circullum in our college is very comfartable to students in our circullum there are no extra classes we have classes in respective time and we have two exams for one semester and we have 2 semester in one year

Likes

Things I liked in my college is infrastructure
And the opportunities they are creating for every category like sports or academics
Every lecturers and professors are experienced and dignified

Dislikes

I am studying since two years but there are limited fests
Exam papers are very difficult to answer
Correction is also very difficult and little bit favourism is shown by lecturers to home state students

Placement Experience:

Compared to my friend colleges and other colleges our college placements are very better according to my course. In my branch average package is 800000 and 62.8% of students are getting placed. And so many students are doing internships.

I choosen electrical engineering branch because of I have instreast in study of electrical appliances. In my opinion the engineering required more practical knowledge then theorey. The frequency of exam is not to high .

The institute offers various placements and intership right from the first year
The presence of various clubs like recursion ,edc ,spic macay ,maths and tech club ,debating society ,cca provides you the opportunity to discover your hidden talents
All the laboratory are well equipped .the professors and staffs are very friendly

Dislikes

It also require a little improvement in its infrastructure

Placement Experience:

Students from third year are eligible for placement. This year around 120 companies visited for placement . Microsoft,amazon,ZS, reliance,dealshare, cisco , flipkart. My plan is to do job after the degree.

The Great Campus Life

The security is very good and especially for girls
The environment of campus is very brilliant
The infrastructure of this college is appreciable

NIT Durgapur has a decent placement record, attracting numerous reputable companies across various sectors. The placement process typically begins in the seventh semester or in the month of July for final-year students, with companies conducting pre-placement talks as well as tests. In the year 2023, nit dgp achieved an overall placement rate of 84.66% for B.Tech students. The highest package offered was 70 lpa and an average package of 13.62 LPA.

A New Life For Me

I am very much fond of the campus of our college..... The campus filled with greenery and clean silent roads make my liking double for it.
The classes are large, have capacity to accommodate any number of students and also the classrooms are very much clean.
The first year students are now much protected and are free to discover their college facilities without any fear of ragging.

Dislikes

I think the fee structure for our college is much high.... This is the most disliked part for me

Placement Experience:

NIT Durgapur Placement 2024 has not been released yet, it will be updated here once released. As per the placement statistics of 2023, the highest salary of INR 70 LPA was offered. Top reputed recruiters include TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft and many others. During the 2023 placement drive, more than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive. 633 students were placed. During NIT Durgapur Placements 2023, the average salary stood at INR 13.64 LPA. NIT Durgapur has started the Summer Internship Placements 2022. Till now, a total of 7 companies visited the campus and offered internships to 44 students for the internship programs. I have decided to give the army exams and various upsc exams after getting a job after completing b tech degree.

I liked the culture of staying together in hostel
Professor are very kind ,teaches exam oriented
And absolutely about exam ,the paper done by the teachers

Dislikes

Professor are good but they should more kind
Exams level are tough in some papers.....
Just like other engineering college girls and boys ratio is very bad 4:1

I like mechanical engineering . In our college besides theory classes their are practical classes also.The curriculum has been recently updated in 2023 and for my branch I personally think so that it is relevant to a certain extent only, maybe 50%.

The faculty is great. The clubs are good.
The opportunities and experiences to gain apart from academic is vast.
The hostels are cleaner and livable and the campus is big and pretty too.

Dislikes

There are unnecessary restrictions being imposed on first years.
There are not a lot of food outlets available inside campus which should be changed

From 8 semester students become eligible for campus placements. There are a lot of companies that visits our college namely Apple, Tisco, Jp morgan, Bosche and a lot of other well established mncs. The highest package usually is between 60 to 70 lakhs while the average package is somewhere between 10 to 12 lakhs. Majorly 60 percent of students get placed. My plans after getting the degree is definitely seeing myself working in a nice technology company

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
