Fees and Financial Aid:

In first year it took 58 thousand rupees in first semester and 42 thousand rupees in second semester. In 2nd year it took 39 thousand rupees in first year and 45 thousand rupees in second year so in total around 2 lakh.

1. 59000 for general students and 56k for sc st an pwd as a 3000(tutuion fee) waived off for 1st sem including the safety caution money otherwise each sem there is arround 45k 2. tution fees 3000 caution fees arround 14k registration fees aroound 400 all totaly it comes within 45k with hostel food and stay money 3. done in 1st 4. mcm are there also and there is a compulsory 1000 per month to allwho dont have any scholarship

IIT-KGP in a nutshell

Fees are paid semester-wise containing fees for mess, hostel accomodation, hostel overhead, exam, internet, medical charges, lab contingency and others. The maximum amount of the total fees per semester accounts from the mess, hostel accomodation estimating around 32 thousand rupees, others including tuition fees accounts for the rest. In the first semester, at the time of admission, the outstanding fees was around 58 thousands for General, EWS and OBC, that for the SC and ST was around 55 thousands. The institute takes 6000 rupees during the admission as refundable amount.

My life at IIT Kharagpur

Tuition fees are typically reviewed annually. The rate of increase varies but usually ranges from 3% to 5% per year. For the MSc degree the complete cost of my education was approximately 200000 rupees, including the semester fee and hall establishment charges. Apart from this there were miscellaneous expenses which are crucial such as personal needs, medical needs, stationary etc. this cost around 50000. The institute offers various scholarships such as inspire, etc. and they also provide financial aid to students in need. For people in PhD there is institute scholarship which is equivalent to that of JRF.

The scholarship is pretty meager, 1000 per month this is named as an assistantship for a 2-year MSc. No other scholarship is offered generally to the M.sc students. On average 50k is being spent each semester including hostel and tution and all the other fees.

Time management for course, the course curriculum is tough

Yes there is scholarship for students who's family income less. And the fees is about 35000 per sem including all( Academic, hostels,mess ). And also the company comes every year so we have chance for placement and we can apply for placements.

Number of students in some courses is too big.

Fee Structure for M.Sc. courses is ok like we need to pay around 45000 per semester. But, if we talk about scholarship then it's a bad news that there is no institute scholarship for unreserved students but u can get it for other organisations like NSP.

the unseen angle of IIT Kharagpur

The per semester fee of this course is 104000 per year including the 69300 rupees of hostel fee. A very smooth system of getting student loans is provided by the state bank of India. A scholarship of 6k rupees is provided per month out of 6k rupees 1k is provided during msc period per month and the remaining 5k per month will be provided once you enroll in the Ph.D.

Fees are most in the 1st sem. Then it decreases. Yes there are opportunities for scholarship and internships from the campus. One has to seek for it to the office. If one is really interested for placement from the campus then he/she must get it.

IIT Kharagpur offers an integrated course M.Sc. + PhD. in Molecular Medical Microbiology. The total fee of the course is INR 45,900. Admission to the course is done on the basis of IIT JAM.
