Ans. The regular MAJMC is a 2-year programme with 50 seats, open to any graduate. The lateral entry MAJMC is a 1-year programme with 10 seats, designed specifically for candidates who have already completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication (PGDJMC) or an equivalent diploma from a UGC-recognised university. The lateral entry route allows diploma holders to upgrade to a full MA degree in just 1 year. The annual fee for the lateral entry programme is Rs. 42,200 (slightly higher than the regular MAJMC at Rs. 41,200). Both programmes are offered on the CSJMU campus.
Ques. What is the fee structure for MA (JMC) at CSJMU, and are there any scholarships available?
Ans. The annual fee for MA (JMC) at CSJMU is Rs. 41,000 plus Rs. 200 as library fee, totalling Rs. 41,200 per year. For the full 2-year programme, the total fee is Rs. 82,400. SC/ST/OBC/EWS students from Uttar Pradesh can avail fee reimbursement through the UP State Post-Matric Scholarship scheme at scholarship.up.gov.in. Students with family income below Rs. 2 lakh per annum may also be eligible for the Dashmottar Scholarship offered by CSJMU, which provides full fee reimbursement.
