Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or equivalent from a recognized university acquired through full-time or regular mode of education.
Minimum 60% marks in aggregate (of all years/semesters) or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying degree is mandatory.
Candidates with a Post-graduate degree in related engineering disciplines (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical) or M.Sc. in relevant science disciplines can apply for Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, though they may be required to complete additional coursework.
Admission Process
Candidates must register online and submit the application form along with required documents including academic transcripts, research proposal (2 pages), and proof of English proficiency.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for VITREE, a 2-hour computer-based test with 100 MCQs (70 technical questions, 15 English communication skills questions, 15 statistics and probability questions).
Top performers in VITREE will be invited for a personal interview (physical mode at VIT Vellore) where research aptitude, subject knowledge, and communication skills are evaluated.
Final selection is based on VITREE score, academic performance, research proposal quality, and interview performance.
Selected candidates must report in person at VIT Vellore in July 2026 with original documents and complete the registration process.
