Madras University PG Eligibility Criteria

For regular M.A., M.Com, M.Sc, and LLM courses, students are required to complete BA, B.Com, B.Sc, and LLB courses respectively to be eligible for admission to the University.
For the M.Tech program, students should have passed M.A./M.Sc. Degree Examination with Geography/ Geology/ Physics/ Environmental Sciences / Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology/ Agriculture / Remote Sensing as the Main Subject of Study or Geography as one of the Subjects of study with knowledge of Mathematics/Statistics at least at the 10+2 level or B.E. Civil Engineering or any Information Technology related fields.
For other courses like MBA, MCA, M.Ed, courses, applicants need to have a graduation degree in any discipline to be eligible for admission.
For an Executive MBA course, candidates should have graduated with 55% marks in aggregate in any stream.

University of Madras Chennai Admission Process

University of Madras Chennai offers admission to its majority of its programs based on the scores in the entrance exam conducted by the University itself.The admission process has been given below:

The admission should be done online @www.unom.ac.in only.
The cost of application is INR 354, including GST, which should be paid through online mode only by State Bank Collect [SBI COLLECT], and the receipt of payment shall be forwarded along with other testimonials; otherwise, the application will be summarily rejected.
Foreign Nationals, including NRIs with valid passports and visas issued by the Government of India, and Refugees will be considered for admission, subject to the conditions prescribed by the Government, eligibility for schooling, and qualifying examinations passed.
Application submitted through online shall be printed and the scanned soft copy emailed to respective departments and also sent the hard copy directly to the Head of the concern Department along with duly self-attested proof for the payment of application cost and copies of necessary certificates with documents.
Duly self-attested scanned copies of the remaining mark statements if any (i.e. 6th semesters for 3 year course and 8th semesters for 4 year course) should be sent to the concern department and also by post (as it was done previously) within 7 days after the publication of the results of final semester for U.G examinations.
The candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from other Universities shall obtain the Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras either online or in person and submit the same to the Department at the time of admission to the course of study.

The SC/ST/SCA/SCC [SC converted Christian] candidates of Tamil Nadu alone are eligible to avail only one application at free of cost. A copy of the Community Certificate [Photograph with Digital Certificate], duly self-attested, shall be emailed to the respective department along with other testimonials to avail this concession.
The fee structure of the Self-Finance Program is higher than the Regular Program.
Applications cannot be transferred from one department to another department under any circumstances.
Foreign Nations, including NRIs, are exempted from appearing Entrance Examination.
15% supernumerary seats are available in all the PG Programs for Foreign Nationals, including NRIs.
2 supernumerary seats are available for students from Jammu & Kashmir in all the departments.
Admissions to PG Degree Programs are based on the marks obtained in the basic qualifying examination (100%). The percentage of marks shall be calculated based on the marks obtained in both elective and core courses in the University of Madras examinations, and only the marks of core courses for other Universities.
In certain PG Programmes where multiple streams of students are eligible, the basic qualifying examination (50%) and entrance examination (50%) will be taken into account.

I choose DG vaishanvcollege for its strong academic reputation, affordable fees structure and excellent placement support especially in HR and marketing . So i applied LIBA ( Loyola institute of business management and SRM ) other than DG vaishnav college . I got acceptance from DGVC and SRM and i got regected from LIBA . I chose DGVC as it has affordable fees of 4 lakhs in total , also they are giving duel specialisations, also its affilated to university of madras , placement support and location advantage. I got rejection from liba as the cut off was not clear as my percentile was below 80 as the cut of was 85 plus. The admission process was quiet simple for DGVC as the - 1. Eligibility to apply was min 60 % in Bachelor degree 2. TANCET exam was preffed we have to submit the application through online portal of DGVC. Submit the TANCET score , it will shortlist accoding to the cut off , then we have a personal interview and final selection and documentation process

The University of Madras has uploaded the guidelines on how to register, fill up and submit your Ph.D applicaiton form on its official website. Once you have filled up your application form, you will be redirected to the payment page. Without making the payment your registration status will remain incomplete.

The university has not released the dates for the admission entrance tests. The university has extended the registration process till 31 July 2022. The new entrance examination date will be released shortly. However, admission to M.Sc courses is based on the merit of the qualifying examination passed.
