NIT Jamshedpur BTech Admission 2024 is expected to start in June- July 2024, based on the JEE Mains score. The applications for JEE Mains (Session II) are open. The last date to register for the same is March 2, 2024. JEE Mains (Session II) examinations will be conducted from April 1 to April 15, 2024. The results will be announced on April 25, 2024.

NIT Jamshedpur BTech program is offered for a duration of 4 years, further segregated into 8 semesters. Admission to this program is completely based on the marks obtained in the JEE Mains examination. The institute accepts BTech applications if the candidates have the required JEE Mains qualifying cutoff as released by the JoSAA counselling. In 2023, the NIT Jamshedpur BTech cutoff ranged from 10250-53272 rank for the home state quota candidates.

The NIT Jamshedpur BTech placement report is out. For the year 2023, the institute has marked 98.87% placement with the highest package reaching up to INR 83.4 LPA. The CSE department of NIT Jamshedpur has achieved 97.20% placement with an average package of INR 26.63 LPA. NIT Jamshedpur B.Tech Course Highlights

NIT Jamshedpur offers the four year B.Tech program comprising courses divided into five distinct areas namely: Institute Core, Programme Core, Programme Elective Courses, Open Elective Courses, co-curricular/extracurricular activities.
The Programme core courses consist of courses considered essential for a chosen engineering/ science discipline, including laboratory courses, practical training and a major project.
Shortlisted candidates have to register themselves for JOSAA Counselling which will be taking place in June 2024.
The Institute lays special emphasis on the tutorial system, which is based on a close personal interaction between students and teachers.
B.Tech students have to undergo a comprehensive project during the final year of their studies.
Students from reserved category and who have secured merit can also avail NIT Jamshedpur Scholarship.

NIT Jamshedpur B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

For B. Tech course, the candidate must have 50% in aggregate and mush have physic, chemistry and mathematics /biology as compulsory subjects in his/her 10+2
Or the candidate can have a B. Sc degree or diploma
For the integrated courses, the candidate must have a 50% in 10+2 with PCM /PCB

NIT Jamshedpur B.Tech Selection Criteria

Admission will be offered on the basis of score secured in JEE Main Entrance test.
Candidates have to register for counseling online at the official JoSSA website. Choice filling and locking is mandatory and it is to be done by the candidate only. The institute is allotted to the candidate, based on the score, and the seat reservation.

The classroom are pretty good and amazing
The infrastructure is damn good and the ground

Girls and boys ratio is too low like 5:1
The campus is not closed like having 2-3 villages in the campus

Fees and Financial Aid:

Per sem the fee is about 47500 Mess fee-18000 Hostel fee-15000 Others fee-12500 Overall the fee is like 47500 for ST quota As for the open quota it's like 108500. For caution deposit it's like 20000 at the beginning

Reality of Nit Jamshedpur

The main academic building of the college is very good where student attend lecture it is fully AC with fully Wi-Fi and the classrooms are very digital and highly maintained with good hygiene
The greenery of the college is also very good with so many trees and fresh air

The campus is open for outsiders and they does not need any type of permission to get into the college
The Wi-Fi facility is poor all over the campus and jio network is also not available

Placementor College

The infrastructure of the new lecture hall i.e, known by DJLHC is very good. The classrooms are fully Air conditioning with external noise cancellation techniques.All classrooms have projectors for clearing the concept in better and effective way.
The teachers are well educated with PhD degree.The way , he delivers the concept is very amazing and understandable.Student-teacher bonding is very good.

Girls to boys ratio is very negligible i.e, around 1/3
There is no park , no swimming pool in the college for daily mood refreshment

For those whose annual income is more than 5 lakh :- pay around 224000 rupees as college fees every year in which tuition fees is around 125000, mess fees is around 36000, and hostel fees is 30000. For those whose annual income is between 1-5 lakh , they take benefit of 2/3rd fee remission in tuition fees so that their fees is reduced by 80000 and all other charges remains same For those whose annual income is less than 1 lakh , their tuition fees becomes 0 and all other charges is remains same. For ST/SC students , their tuition fees is 0 and all other charges remains same.

The college academic building is newly builded and has advanced features like Ac rooms ,digital rooms ,garden etc.its a beautiful building being the centre of attraction of the people and students to take admission .
There is an auto stand inside the campus so no need to opt for a drives.

The autoprices are so high so you have to spend alot money on your traveling expences if you love to travel.
The placement scenerio is going down this days

The yearly i am paying academic fees of 70,500 Rs.Which is actually a tuision fee with caution involved in it .This are the normal fee structure for geeral category students.For OBC if you have a annual income less tha 2 lakhs then you have to pay zero tuition fees and if you have annual income in between 3-5 lakhs u have to pay two third of the actual fees .for SC ST category student tuition fees are zero .For general EWS students OBC students rules are followed.All students have to accomodate for hostel.And hostel and mess fees are compulsory for everyone.Students may apply for student loan.

All about NIT JSR

Institute has diversified clubs which are superactive.
There's no ragging in this college and junior senior interaction is minimal.

there should be an Improvement in the infrastructure specially for the labs and hostels.
boys and girls ration is 5:1 as ecpected.

year wise fees include tution fees of both the semester which is 64000 each for non reserved category and mess + hostel fees 18000+ 15000 respectively for each sem. For reserves category you can opt for fee remission of 2/3 of the total tution fees for ews studens and there will be 0 tution fees for st sc category students. there are alot of scholarship programs offered by large companies and the institution as well for like tata, l&T ekalyan scholarship etc. moreover you can get a scholarship of rs 80000/ year if make a place into the top 3 of your batch in academics.

An unbiased review on NIT Jamshedpur

I like the placement statistics of the college which attracts various students , which is very good even for core branches.
The college life is not that happening lest you find good friends with whom you can hangout and enjoy.

No night life in the college, and lack of canteens and good food options.
The college is an open campus so people from outside too roam around the college which is quite unsafe for some people

The fee structure includes tuition fees which is Rs 125000 per year which includes 2 semesters. For people with family come below Rs 5 lakh there is 2/3rd fee rebate in the total tution fees and for people below Rs 1 lakh family income and SC/ST students it is nil tuition fees. Caution fees is Rs 10 thousand and one time admission fees is Rs 32000, while registration fees , lab and development fees covers to around Rs 1000 for each semester respectively. My batchmates pay fees according to the income slab and category they belong while i pay the full amount without any fee remission. Scholarships such as PM modi yashasvi yojana, FFE, E-Kalyan are available for students.

An In depth review on NIT Jamshedpur from academics, campus life and beyond

The first thing i like after coming to NIT Jamshedpur is the tag of NIT. The respect, achievement you get after getting here is totally worth
The placement here is one of the thing which is the major reason for me to choose this college

The NIRF disappoints me the most after coming , even having lot of good and potential things here still standing out the under 100
The open campus problem is biggest disliked thing here

At NIT Jamshedpur we have the tutuion fees of 75k per semester , 18k mess fees and 15 k hostel fees per semester . In total the annual fees is 213000 for the B.Tech student in any course . To relax down the burden there is having couple of scheme like the one is fee remission which is given on the basis of the family income like 1/3rd , 2/3rd or full remission. If you are elegible to your state government scholarship like from Bihar , Jharkhand , MP, Maharastra or any state you can claim here depending upon the criterion . Like here many of my friends recieved E-Kalayan, MMVY , etc .

Pros& cons

From 2nd year students get their own rooms in hostels
The social life of campus is very healthy and interactive

college could build some infrastructures and should have some more equipments
The course curriculum seems somewhat irrelevant

For a person with family income between 1lakh to 5 lakh, I got a few remission of 66% on tuition fees.So, on yearly basis the tuition fees is 41666, e campus fee is 4000 ,examination fee is 2000, training and placement fee is 1000 ,library fee is 4000, internet fee is 2000,student welfare fee is 1000, medical insurance is 2000 ,sports fee is 3000 and cultural and tech fee is 4000

Good college, decent placements

Placements are very good compared to other NITs and colleges. For 2024 batch, placement percentage was around 90% despite hiring freezes and recession.
Hostels are really good, giving single rooms from 2nd year onwards for boys. Also new hostels have been built recently, adding more to the already decent no. of hostels. Also wifi is available in hostels and lecture hall complex, lan facility as well

Labs weren't well built during my time, though they have started renovating them lately and is likely to improve.

Fees is quiet decent compared to other colleges and way lower than the private ones. There is also provision for remission, subject to fulfillment of certain economic criteria, granting 1/3 or 2/3 depending upon family income. For the ones paying full fees, fees per year is around 216000 rupees. Also there are n no. of scholarship schemes like ekalyan, pmss, etc.

Great placement and environmental is very good lot of greenary
Faculty members are very helpful and well knowledgeable with most of them are phd holders

Drinking water facility some times bad and not available
Attendance 75% but yeah they allow below 75% also and yes there is a marks for attendance . So it is good

Yeah there is. A lot of scholarship available and fee waiver is also available. Complete cost is approx 8 lakh including all types of fees . Scholarship name are NSP. Also u can avail from you state government also .
