JUIT Solan Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like Adobe, Infosys, Wipro, Collegedunia, ZS Associates, and many more would visit the campus. The average package was somewhere around 4,00,000-5,00,000. Almost 70% of students except in Civil Engineering would get placed. After my degree, I started preparing for the UPSC.

I chose the course because of my interest and passion although I was eligible for computer science also as per my rank I found civil engineering best per my interests. Faculty, there was excellent and masters in their respective disciplines all were from iit's.

The course of my interest. Faculty to student ratio was 1:5.Most of the faculties were Ph.D. holders. The teaching methods were very student-friendly. Exams were held every 2 months in a semester. The exams required very hard work.

Students can work on their programming skills and interpersonal dynamics from well in advance. Placement opportunities are given but if you want a decent package(above 20 LPA), you may need to apply off-campus.

From the 7th Semester, companies started to come for placement offers. ZS associate - 7, Paxcom - 15, Sopra Steria- 3, Inference - 4, JTG- 1, Mindtree - 7, Accenture - 7, 20(mass), Infosys - 7(DSE), 3(SP) highest package -40LPA Amazon Hackathon of campus, average package- 5LPA. currently, 60% of students are placed but at the end of the 8th semester, 100% of students get placed. After getting a degree ill get a placement only.

Teachers are very helpful and well-qualified in their respective fields and knowledgeable. the teaching quality is perfect. our curriculum makes students ready for industry standards. Teachers help students with projects and research papers

After the 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements till the last semester usually. A lot of companies visits including Amazon (highest offering), Zscaler, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates, icertis to name a few are the highest offering companies. TCS, Wipro, cognizant, Infosys, and DXC are the mass recruiters companies with an average package of 3.5-4lakhs for software engineer profiles. Once you get placed in these, they do conduct internal exams for better roles and higher packages before final joining. Amazon offers the highest package around 30LPA for SDE profiles and around 18LPA for the non-tech profiles. Offers made by these high packages companies are quite low, around 1-2. The website does say a 100% placement but that's not true. It's usually around 90-95% excluding those who opted out for campus placements and those who didn't use to fill out any forms for any company.

Faculty members are also good at teaching the subjects. They teach us very efficiently and smartly. Smart classes are held in lecture rooms. The exam is held thrice a semester (15, 25,35) marks. Exam pattern is not difficult.

From the 7th semester, the student is eligible for the campus placement. My plan is to pursue MTech after BTech. T&P cell put effort into the placement. The average package is around 4.5 LPA in the 2017-2018 batch. T&P cell sometimes allows students to sit for the placement after the course completion.

Placements are good in terms of numbers but satisfactory in terms of the emoluments. Some companies offer very generous packages but mostly for CSE/IT/ECE students (for technical roles). Other students with higher than average packages get places in non-technical roles. A downside is Bioinformatics students, even on studying more programming and data science concepts than the other streams are ineligible for many of the high paying tech companies.
