HPU Scholarships: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 522 Reviews

Himachal Pradesh University offers a wide array of scholarships and financial assistance programs designed to support students from various backgrounds. Scholarships are available based on merit, socioeconomic status, and specific categories like SC/ST, OBC, and EWS, following guidelines from the Himachal Pradesh government. Students achieving a 90 percentile in their 12th standard or being a single girl child may benefit from fee reductions. Tuition fees for courses vary, with subsidized categories paying approximately Rs. 13,000 annually while non-subsidized students pay around Rs. 26,000.

Specialized courses like BCA have annual fees ranging from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 60,000. Scholarships can significantly reduce the financial burden, covering up to 70-80% of course fees for eligible categories. Additionally, national scholarships such as NSP and schemes for meritorious and sports students are accessible. The fees structure is generally low compared to other institutions, making education affordable for students in Himachal Pradesh. However, while scholarships are prevalent, opportunities for campus placements remain limited.
