Himachal Pradesh University offers admission to UG, PG, Management and Diploma courses. One of the most popular programs at HPU is the MA program, which offers specialisations in 20 subjects such as English, Hindi, Journalism and Mass Communication, Music, etc. For admission to the MA program, students must have completed their graduation in their relevant fields.
For eligibility to the MA program at HPU, candidates must have completed their graduation with a minimum of 45% marks. After that, they need to appear for a college interview, and selection will be based on merit. For the upcoming October session 2025, the last date for registration is 20th August 2025, and the schedule for counselling is 2nd September 2025. The physical counselling will be held on 8th and 9th September.
HPU MA program fee starts from INR 6,600 annually and can go up to INR 30,600 annually for specialisations like Music and Journalism.

HPU MA (Regular) Admission 2025
HPU offers MA courses on 20 specialisations, which include English, Hindi, Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Sanskrit, and more. The duration of the full course is two years, spread over four semesters in total. Admission is granted based on merit. The eligibility criteria for admission are that the candidates must have completed graduation with a minimum of 45% marks.

HPU MA (JMC) Admission 2025

HPU BA Admission 2025
HPU offers admission to the BA program in 26 specialisations such as History, Geography, Mathematics, Physical Education, English, Political Science, etc. For admission in the BA program, students must have completed 10+2. Candidates are admitted based on their merit and academic history. HPU BA program fees range from INR 3,400 to 4,800 per year.

HPU B.A.LLB Admission 2025
The B.A.LLB course at HPU is a 3-year program that consists of 6 semesters. To apply, students must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks for General category, and 45% for SC/ST category. The selection criteria are solely based on merit, and your academic performance. The fees for the B.A.LLB course annually costs INR 73,500 for subsidised seats and INR 1.08 lakh for non-subsidised seats.

HPU B.Tech Admission 2025
Himachal Pradesh University offers a B.Tech program in 5 specialisations, namely Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. For admission to the B.Tech program, students must pass the 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
Admission to all seats is based on a Common Entrance Test held by HPU. The selection is based on the CET performance and merit. The fee for the first year is INR 1.19 lakh.

HPU Ph.D Admission 2025
Himachal Pradesh University offers Ph.D. admission in 30 subjects such as Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, and more.
For admission in the Ph.D program at HPU, a student must have at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in their Master’s degree in the subject they want to do a Ph.D and also need to appear for an entrance test conducted by HPU. To pass the entrance test, a student must score at least 50%. For SC/ST students, the passing marks are 45%. HPU Ph.D program fee ranges from INR 15,000 to INR 20,800 for the first year.
