- I love the lush green campus, the professors were decently good and we had a great atmosphere around
- The canteen of the college is providing good and tasty meals, and I've spent a lot of my time there
- Since it's in between the city there's a lot of beautiful places to visit around
Dislikes
- The mess quality of food decreases linearly as the year passes, and becomes worse every time
- There's not a too much of good coding culture here
- Cleanliness and maintenance of some hostels are not as expected
Placement Experience:
The placement of the college were excellent until 2021, infact for CSE , they're still at their best
But for the other branches, they're declining rapidly, the ECE placements are getting worse year after year, most of their people are opting for non core and thus are forgetting their own branch
For my own branch CSE
The highest package for year 2023 was 52 lpa, while the average package was 16.5lpa which on my opinion is pretty good
Almost 84% of students got placed in cse branch this year
According to me, after i get the degree, most certainly I'm expecting to get a job as well, but if I don't, i might approach to a company like JPMC , or doordash, or maybe walmart or something and then for future I'd prepare myself for top companies, I'm dreaming currently to get a job in NVIDIA

- the thing i liked most about our college is that, it is located at the middle of surat city which makes various services and faccilities easy to grab.
- social life of our college is very excellent. the senior - junior interaction is best , also various technical and cultural fests and clubs gives opportunity to students to show up their skills.
- faculty of our branch is highly quallified, our two proffesors are world's topmost journal publisher.
Dislikes
- thing I didn't like about our college is the poor maintenance of infrastructure ,especially lift of first year boys hostel is not working , we were tired of assending 4 floors everyday for atleast 5 times in order reach in our rooms
- poor and unmaintained building structure of canteen and student complex is also a thing of concern. Also there are perticular areas in our campus where garbage and waste furniture materials are dumped frequently
- another thing which i didn't like is the non availability of non veg food in hostel mess
Placement Experience:
placements of our college are really excellent. highest CTC offered was 64 LPA . In our branch highest CTC offered was 18 LPA. top international and national companies comes for campus interviews like Audi, Mercedes , L&T ,Bajaj, etc. Around 70-80 % of each branch students are placed yearly, rest of them opt for higher studies or Bank exams

- I liked the College Campus a lot , It is a lush green campus with serene nature and wildlife within.
- The college is situated in the heart of Surat, It is the prime location and everything is available nearby
- Chemical engineering in this college is one of the best in Western India after IITB & ICT , the profs are great , research opportunities are great. overall the branch is 9.5/10
Dislikes
- Lack of Infrastructure, The college is under renovation for past 3 years so a lot of construction is going on and around the campus.
- Poor maintanence of Hostels. Though the hostels are old and have quite good infra, but they haven't maintained the structure well
- The food, although the food in the mess is quite bad , it is very rare to get good food in Mess, specially for Non veg eaters , the prime locations have very less to no options for nonveg. If they exist it is quite expensive
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum set up by our institute is quite apt to the on going changes in Chemical Industry. All of the important topics like MTO, CRE, HTO, FFO are taught to the students on timely basis , specially in their Second and Third year such that they are able to get a broad and better idea when they reach in their Final year of Course.
Few improvements which could be done are regarding the labs, More of Software learning based labs need to be arranged , nevertheless most of the faculty try to implement it but due to lack of timings , it eventually doesn't get scheduled.
Regarding the exams , few internal assessments are taken Bi Monthly while the Semester Exams occur in a span of 4-5 months. Overall the syllabus and schedule of the Exams are well prescribed. The circullum gives quite freedom to go beyond and learn in depth as per your interests

NIT Surat: 1 Answered Question
What is your review of SVNIT Surat?
Yogita GoswamiB.Tech Mechanical Engineering at SVNIT
My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.
For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.
The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.
Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.
The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.
Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
