JNU B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is enhancing its faculty with a mix of permanent and temporary professors for its BTech programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The curriculum is on par with other government institutions, though lab facilities are average. The exam structure allocates 50% weight to end-semester exams, 25% to mid-semester exams, and 25% to attendance, class performance, and assignments, with a CGPA scale up to 9.

Placement opportunities are improving, with the average package being 11 LPA and the highest on-campus offer at 18 LPA. Off-campus placements have reached 36 LPA. About 70% of CSE students secure jobs, while others opt for further studies. The overall placement rate is 91%, with notable recruiters like Byjus, Accenture, Amdocs, and Barclays. Students have interned with companies such as Barclays and Google. Events like Hack JNU 3.0 are organized by the Google Development Student Club.

Internships are available at various companies, including Amdocs and Delhi Metro. JNU offers scholarships based on family income and category, with full tuition waivers for families earning below 1 lakh INR annually, requiring only a semester registration fee of 5,600 INR. Families earning between 1 to 5 lakh INR per annum pay 27,000 INR per semester, including registration fees. Hostel accommodation is free, with mess bills ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 INR monthly.

The BTech program costs 62,500 INR per semester, totaling around 6 lakh INR for the degree. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students receive full tuition concessions. Additional scholarships for students from states like Bihar and Maharashtra offer financial aid from 1 lakh INR per year to full tuition coverage, based on academic performance. Other courses have significantly lower annual fees, around 500 INR.
