What should I choose between CSD at IIIT Delhi and IT at DTU?

CSD and IT have practically the same core subjects. You’ll have a similar curriculum in either of the options. Unless you have a strong interest in the design aspect of CSD, the choice is mainly between the two colleges. IIITD is very research-oriented. It has state-of-the-art research labs and facilities. You’ll be exposed to dedicated and active research groups over there. Academics are taken quite seriously. You’ll study your subjects in depth for the next 4-5 years. At DTU on the other hand, academics are very laid back. You’ll get lots of time for extracurriculars. You can polish your skills in the area of your interest. If you are sure to build a future in Computer Science, join IIIT Delhi. But if you wish to explore yourself, and polish your skills in some other field, join DTU.

How are the placements for CSD in IIIT Delhi?

Placements in IIIT Delhi are dependent on individual profiles and skills. The college can just invite good IT companies but the package they will offer depends on you alone. IIIT Delhi has many big shots coming for placements including Qualcomm, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, MathWorks, Dell, Synopsys, Adobe, IBM, Accenture, Complex Systems Laboratory, etc. Some of these companies may not allow CSE students to sit for placements but that is rare. As long as you fulfill a certain GPA criteria and clear the test you will be interviewed. In order to clear the coding tests, one must be proficient in computer programming and have enough knowledge of DBMS, OS, and AMD development be it Android ios web. To add value to your profile, you must do internships, projects, research, and good grades. The CSE placement percentage for the BTech course this year stood at 97.38%, so you don’t have to worry about placements at all.

What is difference between CSE and csd coures at IIIT Delhi?

If you have the option of choosing between a CSE and CSD course at IIIT Delhi, I will suggest you go for CSE. The only difference in these branches is the additional MS component which can be taken later if you want through a branch change. CSD is a dual degree, meaning you will be awarded two degrees, a B.Tech in CSE and an MS by Research in CSE. It’s a research-oriented course wherein you will have to write research papers and an MS thesis. Students struggle to get their research papers published so the duration of the course isn’t fixed. Some might take more than 5 years to complete this program depending Both programs are similar in terms of the job opportunities they offer and their curriculum. From the third year, CSD students have to take up an extra project every semester 3rd year onwards. Even a CSE student can also opt for a B.Tech (Hons.) in CSE degree once he has completed two years of his course. He will be required to complete extra projects similar to the Dual Degree student.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The tution fees for each year are as follows: 1st year-Rs 4.5 lakh, 2nd year: 4.75 lakh 3rd year: 5 lakh and 4rth year : 5.3 lakh. loan schemes are also available and laptop schemes are also available sometimes though my batchmates almost have same fees

It's fees is slightly expensive comparing to other colleges offering same course.
this college doesn't have a inbuilt bank like for collecting fees or loans you have to outside of college fot the same.

It's a state goverment college and it's fees is very high comparing to other JAC counselling colleges just for btech it's around 20 lacs excluding hostel fees. for 2023 batch, I will be paying 19,55,000 as tution fees and 10,000 security deposit plus 2,000 as security deposit which is one time. 2nd Year - 4,75,000 3rd Year - 5,00,000 4th Year - 5,30,000 So I have paid my first year as 2,25,000 two times. fees is non negotiable and same for every categories for all student whose admission mode is JAC through jee mains there are mode of admission for B.Tech and their fees structure is different. if you got under 1000 rank in jee mains you financial aid from chairman of IIIT D as zero tution fees. there are govt- central and state scholarship their complete info is available on official iiit d site.

YOUR BOOK TO IIITD

IIITD is known for its updated curriculum but its tough to manage time in the college.
The workload is also hig in the college.
Here at IIITD you get assignments and quizzes with deadlines which maybe hectic for students sometimes.

The fees at IIITD is a bit high. The course fees is 4-4.5 lakhs/ year. The hostels are good and well maintained and the fees goes upto 40k per semester. IIITD also offers fee waiver programs in which students with family annual income less than 6-8 lakh get waiver/scholarship. It also offers a free laptop scheme for students. Also students with rank>=1000 in JEE Mains get 100% tuition fee waiver. You can also apply for student loans if you want.

Good and useful coutrses are taught only

The tution fee is too high and it increases year after year
The curriculum is tough and rigid giving assignments and deadlines on regular basis

The tution fee is remarkably high with a hike of 10% every year, the previous year fees was around 450000 which will be increased by 10% this year. After including hostel fees and other mess related charges the amount for 4 year reaches around 22-23 lakhs. There are few scholarships awarded but either the student must be extraordinary, or extremely poor to avail them.

My college

Total fee amount for one year is 450000 which is given in two part, 225000 given in 1st semester and other 225000 in 2nd semester, there is lot of scholarship available for students like Merit cum income Post metric scholarship for sc students Post metric scholarship for obs students and many more
