Ques. Is a valid GATE score mandatory?
Ans. No. Candidates with GATE can apply through CCMT and receive Rs. 12,400/month stipend. Self-Finance candidates without GATE can apply through ISR after clearing written test and interview.
Ques. What is the total cost including hostel and mess?
Ans. Approximately Rs. 3,69,700 for GATE-qualified GEN/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates over 2 years. SC/ST/PwD candidates pay less due to tuition waiver. GATE-qualified students receive Rs. 12,400/month stipend.
Ques. What research and lab facilities are available?
Ans. Power Engineering Lab, Power Systems Computation Labs, Data Science Applications Lab, High Voltage Lab with 100kV test transformer. Industry-standard tools: PSCAD and POWERWORLD. Mandatory summer internship and two-part dissertation (20 credits).
Ques. What companies recruit graduates?
Ans. Core power sector companies, PSUs, HVDC/FACTS manufacturers, renewable energy companies, consulting firms. 2024-25: 22/24 placed with average CTC 9.18 LPA, highest 25 LPA. Some pursue PhD or join PSUs like PGCIL, NTPC, BHEL.
Ques. Can I join with EEE degree?
Ans. Yes. B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering or EEE is eligible. Minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC-NCL/EWS; 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD.
Ques. What if I cancel after getting a seat?
Ans. If cancelled before physical reporting: No refund. If cancelled after reporting: Rs. 3,000 refund (processed ~Feb/Mar next year). Registration fee is non-refundable.
