I pursued my MBA from LPU, while my younger sister is doing her MBA from Doon Business School.
Out of my personal experience, here are a few disadvantages of doing an MBA from LPU-
- Faculty- At LPU, the MBA faculty significantly lacks experienced faculty members. Most of the teachers are freshers. And while being taught by a fresher teacher is alright, the lecturers are under extreme pressure. They find it difficult to cope up with such high pressure in their early stage of teaching.
- Fees- The MBA fees are quite high. For those who live far away, it is better to look for other options.
- Placement Packages- MBA graduates from LPU do not receive satisfactory packages. The offered packages are between 2-5 LPA.
Doon Business School offers a better ROI, and in fact, the climate of the place is comparatively pleasant in summers. For an MBA, DBS has a better brand reputation, experienced faculty and better curriculum. DBS does not offer just an MBA degree, it offers numerous other industry oriented courses too.
Thus, I would suggest you choose Doon Business School for an MBA.

DBS as an Institute will provide you with the environment to nourish yourself academically and will help in the development of various skills, provided you are keen to learn and actively participate in different activities and competitions that take part throughout the tenure of 2 years.
Best Placements are mostly grabbed by those students who grind themselves. Your focus should be on becoming a good learner while pursuing any professional course. Don’t worry too much about placement if you can work on yourself for good 2 years.

Let me explain the safety and security at DBS (Doon Business School), where my friend lived in the college hostel during my first year.
- DBS has three main road gates and five total gates, with each gate having one or two security guards and CCTV cameras with 24-hour protection.
- DBS boys' hostel is located between two main gates, whereas DBS female hostel is entirely within the main campus area. It's completely secure.
- Outsiders are not permitted or are permitted only after a thorough investigation.
- Mr. N Cheryl is a man from Chennai who lives in a college hostel solely, is ready 24 hours a day for any of your safety, and anyone can call him immediately without reluctance. He is always there to assist you.
Which university should I join for an MBA with good placement Jamia Millia Islamia, Chandigarh University or Doon Business School?
If we are simply comparing the colleges on the basis of ROI, JMI would be your best bet since it gets you a job with an average pay of 5 lacs with a mere fee of nearly 50000. But if you want to get a proper campus exposure you could think of going to Doon Business School. Doon charges nearly 5c lacs for the entire period of two years and has an average package of 6v lacs. You also need to emphasize the factors that are important to you. JMI is a central university and has a very rich legacy but Chandigarsh University on the other hand is quite popular for its pedagogy and professors. My personal choice would be to go for JMI because of the enticing ROI and small batch size.
