The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Computer Engineering at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) offers a comprehensive education with strong career prospects. Admission is based on the JEE Mains exam, with varying cutoffs for different categories and a significant reservation for Delhi candidates. The application process includes JAC Delhi counselling, and despite a relatively smooth process, improvements like online document verification are suggested. NSUT charges approximately INR 2.4 lakhs for the first year, with an expected increase of 10-15% annually, totaling around INR 10.5 lakhs for the entire course.
Although fees are high for a government institution, NSUT provides various scholarships, including the CVSPK scheme for tuition waivers based on family income and merit-based scholarships for top-performing students. Additional financial assistance is available through government schemes. The faculty at NSUT is highly qualified, with many holding advanced degrees from prestigious institutions. While faculty-to-student ratios improve in later years, teaching effectiveness varies among professors. The curriculum emphasizes industry relevance with practical labs and projects.
Exams are moderately challenging, and faculty offer guidance for internships and placements, though some students find self-study necessary. NSUT has an impressive placement record, with 80-90% of students securing jobs, particularly in tech-related fields like CSE, where the rate is around 95%. Top companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are regular recruiters, with the highest salary packages exceeding INR 1 crore and average packages ranging from INR 15 to 18 lakhs per annum.
Students become eligible for placements in their 6th semester, and lucrative internship opportunities also abound, sometimes offering stipends of INR 1-2 lakhs per month. Despite economic challenges, NSUT continues to provide attractive career opportunities, making it a preferred choice for engineering aspirants.
