I am not sexist but I personally know girls who choose Goa over Hyderabad for a better peer group, themselves being from Hyderabad. There are some excellent startups coming out of the Goa Campus like Codedman, Clinify, and Postman(most established one). Those who say Hyderabad CS is better are the ones who get nothing else and keep bragging about themselves.

How are the hostels at BITS Goa?

From 2018 onwards, most people get double sharing rooms for the first year at BITS Goa. Students and alumni say that the hostels are extremely neat, clean, and well maintained. The toilets are almost like those in a decent mall (All western), 10 per floor and 10 bathrooms as well. You get (almost) boiling water throughout the day and night. In some hostels, you would get a double sharing room, a cot, a big almirah with a mirror fitted, table, chair, whiteboard and a few other storage racks. The rooms are quite spacious and even 1012 people can easily hang out in a room. Electricity and internet facilities are good, I wouldn't say great. There have been a lot of power cuts recently. The common room is huge as compared to seniors hostels (old ones), with a TT Table, Carrom, Chess and of course, a TV with cable. There is a lot of space in between the hostels as well.

Although it does sound really cool, students have to wake up for 8AM classes anyway.The campus is breathtakingly beautiful. It is listed as India's 3rd most beautiful campus after IIT Guwahati and NIT Srinagar. The campus is filled all around with natural beauty, and the lawns are well maintained. They have a cricket and football grounds with natural grass and the view from the 2nd floor of the Student activity center- the cricket ground and right behind it you can get an amazing view of the ocean (precisely bay).The mess food is actually good, unlike other colleges. But one can expect the mess food and the overall infrastructure to be way better, because you would be paying up to INR 2025 lakhs for your entire stay here.The best beaches in Goa are an hour and a half away from the campus.BITS Goa has a TEDX event specific to our campus.

Students and alumni say that BITS Goa placements for CS/IS guys is very good in terms of packages and profiles even though high profile companies like Google, Adobe, Facebook do not come to campus. It does not matter much since in any case, Google or Facebook hire very few people who are exceptionally brilliant. One caution is though that the average which gets published in the newspaper or the one which college puts up is usually the average of the CTC and not of what people get in hand. So don't get super excited to see a company with a CTC of 23.5 LPA and less excited with a company with a CTC of 18.5 LPA. You may never know that the latter company pays you much better in the long run if you just focus on the CTC part. The story is totally opposite for other branches. Most of the students have to settle for IT jobs even if they do not want to due to lack of core companies and core companies always have much much lesser packages than IT companies.

Yearly, Tuition fees are 519000 rs and you have to pay 55500 rs for hostel yearly. 24000 rs is taken as miscellaneous advance and 20000 is mess advnace. The advance money is added to swd account and cut monthly according to the charges of mess and miscellaneous things. Daily plate costs 160 rs including breakfast lunch and dinner and if you want evening snacks you have to pay 30 rs separately. Also for fest,merch etc money is deducted from swd and feat pass costs 2500 whereas merch is upto you if and how much you buy. 600 rs per month electricity bill is also cut from this only.

The semester/ term BITS Pilani fee for integrated first degree and higher degree courses is Rs 2,31,500 for the first and second semesters. On the other hand, the BITS Pilani fee for PhD programmes is Rs 21,850 for full-time candidates and Rs 43,700 for part-time candidates for the first two semesters. A Review for BITS Pilani, KK Birla Goa Campus

Exams are packed throughout the semester. Every month there will be either a quiz/midsem/compre(finals). Every week, there are evaluative labs which reflect on the CGPA so you have to constantly study.
Somedays, classes are jam-packed. Gotta attend evaluative labs early in the morning and you cannot miss them. Getting a makeup is also hard.

Admission Fees: 57,000/- Advance fees(caution, etc): 27000/- Mess and Electricity: 20000/- First and second semester: 2,59,000/- each Fees are the same for everyone except those availing of the MCN scholarship. Semester fee increases by 5% every year

The fees is roughly 2500000 for 4 years including the hostel and mess bills. There are scholarship provisions on the basis of BITSAT as well as Merit Scholarships. Therefore It becomes necessary to keep working hard year after year!

Fee Structure And Facilities:

Merit and Merit-cum-need scholarship available for everyone. Merit is for top 3% and MCN is for top 20% of the students which is approximately 120 students out of a batch of 600 people. People receive 15% to 80% scholarship for MCN and nearly 100% in Merit.

The tuition fees see a hike of 5-10 % every year. The average cost of studying would come around 22 lakhs including personal expenses. The college provides great job opportunities and also a lot of scholarships.
