Here are a few colleges for CSE that are superior to BIT Mesra according to me- NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, NIT Calicut, NIT Rourkela, NIT Allahabad, and MNIT Jaipur.

As far as placements are concerned, they are top notch for the CSE branch at BIT Mesra. During the 2022 placements, 113 out of 124 eligible students were placed. The lowest package stood at INR 4 LPA, the average package at INR 19.27 LPA and the highest package at INR 58.33 LPA. The median package was recorded at INR 16 LPA. The companies that visited the BIT Mesra campus for CSE placements were- Micorosoft, Wells Fargo, Walmart, GS, Paytm, Vmware, KPMG, Oracle, MMT, Atlassian, Lowe’s, Whitehat Jr., JF, among others. Media.net, Amazon, Disney, Indeed, Google, American Express, etc. visited the campus after September.

You will be placed from the BIT Mesra (main) campus after your final semester. As most of the placements happen at Mesra campus, you will get the opportunity to showcase your skills in front of big-shot brands like Amazon, Flipkart, Directi, etc. For the 2023 placements from the Jaipur campus, as per now, the highest package for B.Tech stands at INR 51 LPA and the median package stands at INR 8.2 LPA. A total of 53% B.Tech students from the Jaipur campus have been placed.

Moreover, your degree will have the BIT Mesra tag, your campus name (Jaipur Campus) will not be mentioned in your degree ( this is regardless of whichever campus you belong to). As BIT Mesra is a brand in itself, you will easily grab a good job after your degree. However, you should consult the alumni from the Jaipur campus to know about the teaching faculty for CSE over there. This is because faculty matters as much.

One of my friends chose CSE at BIT Mesra over IT at IIIT Allahabad. However, he regretted his decision and after a month, got admission into IIIT Allahabad IT through the CSAB spot round.

BIT Mesra has a huge campus, however, its student intake is much higher as compared to IIIT Allahabad. Even in terms of location, Allahabad is a better choice than Mesra.

In terms of placements, the average package for BIT CSE stood at INR 19.27 LPA 2022. At IIIT Allahabad, the average package for B.Tech stood at INR 30.68 LPA during the same year.

The course fee is also much more affordable at IIIT Allahabad. The total course fee for B.Tech IT from IIIT Allahabad is INR 8,44,700, while at BIT, the B.Tech CSE course fee is INR 13,04,500 (does not include the hostel fees at both).

Thus, I would suggest you choose IT at IIIT Allahabad over CSE at BIT Mesra.

My friend did his B.Tech ECE from NSIT. According to him, NSIT ECE is a better choice than BIT Mesra CSE. Here are the reasons for his preference for NSIT ECE-

Location- NSIT graduates have greater access to major industries due to its closeness to cities like Noida and Gurugram. For CAT, GRE, GMAT, etc., Delhi has a good coaching center facility.

Brand Value- The brand value of NSIT is greater than that of BIT Mesra.

Faculty at NSIT - You will be taught by some of the best professors in the country at the NSIT ECE department. Their letter of recommendation will open numerous doors for you.

Seniors at NSIT- The seniors at NSIT are very helpful. Some of your seniors working at top firms may even refer you for an internship/job interview.

Classes are held regularly at NSIT- There is a 75% attendance criteria at NSIT. The teachers also come for the lectures regularly.

Coding Culture at NSIT- The coding culture at NSIT is great and their coders make it to GSoC every year. Some of them are also ranked highly on sites like TopCoder and CodeChef.

Placements- The placements at NSIT are better than BIT Mesra. ECE students from NSIT get placed in core electronics companies, tech, and non-tech firms. Some of these companies are- Texas Instruments, Airtel, KPMG, Bain, BCG, McKinsey, TCS, Maruti Suzuki, Expedia, Google, Uber, etc.

BIT Mesra is quite an old institution and its alumni are spread across continents. One of its alumni won an Oscar for his work in an animation movie a few years back. BIT alumni hold good positions in top IT brands like Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, among others.The placements at BIT are quite good with the average package for B.Tech CSE recorded at INR 19.27 LPA for 2022. Many CSE/IT students receive multiple offers during placements. Last year, 113 CSE students were placed out of a total of 124 eligible students. Top IT and non-IT brands visit the BIT Mesra campus for placements.

BIT Mesra students perform well in ICPC and GSoC. The coding club ACM organizes a weekly coding contest within the campus. BIT MESRA- LIFE IN GREEN NUTSHELL

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure of Bit Mesra is transparent and decent. The fee structure is divided into eight semesters with sub-categories as tuition fee, development fee, hostel fees, and institute fees. Along with that, mess fees are also paid, which are not included in the tuition and are paid separately to the bit welfare society. At the time of admission, a one-time fee of around 90000 is paid. The fees increase every year, and the mess fees also increase. For the 2025 batch, in the 1st semester, the fees to be paid were 2.87 lakh, including the tuition, institute, development and one-time admission fee. The mess fees amounted to around 35-36k.From next semester onwards, the fees to be paid range from 1.95 to 2.7 lakhs + the mess fees. Scholarships are awarded based on CG in the semester performance and also based on crl rank in JEE. This was for the B.Tech programmes. For B.Arch, the course is quite expensive with around 30-35 lakhs in fees for the overall course.

The detailed fee structure is Rs 4,00,000 per year for 4 years. It includes all the fees like admission, lab, registration and caution. There is no difference in fee structure based on category that is may someone be general, sc or st it doesn't matter, the fees is same for all. But yes there are a lot of scholarships like GP birla scholarship, E-kalyan scholarship,etc. GP Birla is merit based scholarship for students having more than 9 gpa in any semester( Rs 1,00,000 per year) E-kalyan is for weaker sections like obc, sc,st.(Rs 75000 per year)

We have to pay fees semester vise on the ERP portal by online mode. I have paid 311500 at the time of josaa counselling. In which 10000 is caution money ... 60000 for laptop ... They said it as IT charges. Tution fees is 144000. Development fees is 10000. Mess advance is 35000. Hostel rent 20000.

For the July 2024 session, this mess advance was Rs. 30,000 Scholarship is provided from 2nd year based on the previous academic progress and your annual parental income. Tution fees per sem is ?1,65,000 for 1st year and keeps on increasing by aprox 10 percenet per year. Hostel fees is?24000 per sem and mess fee is 30000 on a average per sem.Management quota is not available . NRI can opt for same course in double the price.Extra benifit is given to SC/ST students .

Per semester tution fees us 165000 for 1st year students and keeps on increasing by 10% percent per semester. The hostel fees is 25000 per sem and mess fees is approx 30000. There is no management quota in BIT and extra benefit are given to students of SC/ST quota. The tution fees is approximately same for every branch.
