- Support:- We all know that studying abroad can be daunting. Here, you're not moving from Bangalore to Hyderabad. You are literally changing countries- changing what you eat, when you sleep, and how you study. And such cultural shock can rob off a person's energy. Not to mention the intense homesickness that comes with it. In times like these, the Student Support and Greenwich Business School seems like a god send.
- For example, I still remember my second day in the UK, when I didn't even know how to use public transport and had to literally walk 2 miles to the University. I didn't even have an active UK number at that time. And unlike other Universities who only provide academic support, Greenwich Student support gave me a blueprint on how to get along in the UK.
- Curriculum:- How could I not mention how different studying in the UK is, in a good way of course! Unlike India, most UK Universities do not have a fixed syllabus, i.e., you are not limited to studying a particular book for a particular subject.
Dislikes
- Course Structure:- While the course itself is great with an immaculate curriculum, it is the way the modules are distributed that hinders one's ability to grow. The MBA course I studied is a 2-year course. Generally, all UK Masters courses are 1 year long, however mine had a sandwich year after that. In the Sandwich year, commonly known as a Placement Year, one is expected to find and complete a 40-45 week long placement, before they graduate.
- Finding a job in the UK isn't as difficult as they say on the internet, but the caveat here is compliance. My course has a detailed checklist on the type of job permitted as placement. For example, I could only do a job on fixed-term basis and not permanent. From my own research, I found 3/4 of all jobs in London to be permanent contract. This makes finding a placement extremely difficult.
- Personally, I feel it would have been better if it was a 1-year course instead, which would have facilitated better flexibility to pursue a career that one really likes, and not one that UKVI allows.

- I found my accommodation in London through a website called "University Living". I got myself an en suite bedroom in London Zone 2, for roughly 800 GBP every month.
- The best part about living in the accommodation was its brand-new construction. The entire building was newly constructed, which meant I was the first person to live in my room. The renting company "Your Tribe" offered free Wi-Fi, a games room, a house party every month, and most importantly a gym. The reception was open 24 hours to ensure security at all times.
- Thankfully, I did not face any challenges while looking for accommodation in London, as the entire process was frictionless. The only caveat was I had to pay my entire rent of 5 months in a lump sum. However, the staff was very welcoming and I even made some great friends at the building.
- If budget permits, I would totally recommend Chapter living or University Living for students seeking accommodation in London, as they not only provide great rooms but also a community to build connections with.
- The University of Greenwich is 2 miles away from the accommodation I lived in. The accommodation is situated in South Bermondsey, Southwark. I knew other people from Greenwich who stayed in the same building. However, most of my friends opted for the University Accommodation although they moved to other places later.
- Note: I lived in this accommodation for 5 months. Currently, I live in East London with my sister and brother-in-law. I am attaching the pictures of the accommodation below.

- For me the rent is about 450 GBP and Im living in zone 2 of London
- It’s pretty hard to find an accommodation in this budget in London but if we have enough time to do fieldwork, it means we can get it
- Yes. I advise students to get private accommodation here, as the student accommodation is so costly.
- My accommodation is just 30 minutes' travel from college and I'm in a place called Ilford, where most of the Indians stay.

- The infrastructure - Greenwich is a beautiful borough of London, and studying there makes you feel surreal!
- Social activities & clubs - The university had multiple activities/festivals that provided a chance to socialise and meet new people.
- Professors - They were really learned and super helpful, friendly and kind!
Dislikes
- Distance - I did not stay in the student accommodation; so I had to travel about 2.5 - 3 hours (to + fro) on days I had classes
- Fare - Travel in London is expensive, so on days that I did have classes, I was spending quite a bit on travel
- No compulsory class participation - This caused the cohort to divide itself into groups by themselves, and I feel like I missed out on the chance to know my classmates better
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation through personal and family sources.
- I paid 650 GBP per month, inclusive of all bills.
- The accommodation felt expensive at first since I was in the habit of converting INR to GBP.
- Just one recommendation: make sure that your accommodation is secured before you travel.
- Accommodation was about 75 minutes away by the tube. Most Indian students end up staying in Kingsbury/Wembley/Kenton/Harrow, etc.

- I opted for off-campus accommodations. I found this accommodation through my friend. The monthly rent was 430 per head and billed another 30 pounds for a month. It was separated from the actual rent. Facilities included electricity, gas, wifi, a washing machine, a backyard, and heaters.
- I would like to say to future students: find accommodation through friends and ask them to go and check if you found any accommodations and have proper communication before paying the deposit and rent. For me, it takes 40 minutes via train to reach my campus, and it costs around 2.50 pounds for a one-way trip.

The accommodation I stayed in was Scape Canada Water where I paid 350 pounds a week for an ensuite with a kitchen sharing of 10 people, the connectivity to Central London was also great.
Not many universities in the UK gave me the option to pursue a dual-subject master's degree. I either had the option to pursue strategic Advertising or Mass Communications. However, at UOG I was offered an offer for Strategic Advertising along with Marketing Communications which gave me overall exposure to branding, strategy and Business Development.

- A well recognized public university with a decent tution fee structure. More over i wanted this course with xxxx number of credits and subjects for helping my career. Compared to other universities which i wouldnt name, i felt university of greenwich is a old university in UK with enhanced teaching skills and they upgrade regularly to the current situations in the outside world. The faculty is really very professional and experienced. The reason for me to chose MBA in International Business is the global faculty who has different experiences across the world which are taught together for a student who has studied his entire lifetime in a single country.
- The professors at my university were not only experts in their fields but also approachable and supportive. Their dedication to teaching and mentoring was evident, and they always encouraged us to think critically and pursue our academic interests. The lively campus environment was one of the highlights of my university experience. There were always events, activities, and student organizations to participate in, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. The university’s emphasis on global education, including study abroad programs and international student exchanges, enriched my understanding of different cultures and global issues. This global perspective was integral to my personal and academic development. The university’s location provided easy access to cultural, professional, and recreational opportunities. Its proximity to key industries and vibrant cities enhanced both my academic and extracurricular experiences.

- Nothing much i have disliked about my college. The only point i have disliked is the duration of the classes. Generally most of the classes are till late evening 8pm. This was late back in 2020. Now Couple of new joiners told me that the classes have been pushed back and are completed by 6pm.
Accommodation
I did not go for student accommodation as I wanted to stay outside and explore more on the culture and adapt to self living. I shared a 2 bedroom apartment with one person but was a very highend luxurious one. The average cost which you have to keep in mind when you are planning to stay in UK is approx 1,000 GBP per month. For a normal living you can consider approx 600 GBP per month. For a High end one you don't have any limits. These approx values include food, accommodation, uni travel only.
Reflecting on my overall experience at University of Greenwich, I can say it was a transformative journey filled with growth, learning, and memorable moments. The rigorous academic curriculum pushed me to expand my knowledge and develop critical thinking skills. Engaging with professors who are experts in their fields and participating in diverse courses provided a strong foundation in my chosen discipline. The learning helped me actually implement and solve real problems on ground in business/work life. Building relationships with peers, professors, and alumni was one of the most rewarding aspects. The sense of community and the diverse network of individuals I connected with have provided lasting friendships and professional contacts. College was a time of significant personal growth. I learned to manage my time effectively, balance various commitments, and navigate the challenges of independence. These experiences shaped me into a more resilient and adaptable individual. In summary, my time at University of Greenwich was a pivotal chapter in my life. It was a period of intense learning, personal growth, and unforgettable experiences. The knowledge and skills I gained, along with the relationships I built, have prepared me well for my future endeavours. I look back with gratitude and pride for being part of such an inspiring and supportive academic community.

- "I went forward with University of Greenwich because - 1. Its in London, in comparison to other university there were more chances of employment also during my time as student and after education as it university does not provide placement they help to get prepared. 2. The modules and fees, modules are related to and around Cybersecurity and it also included computer forensics which facinated me during that time. Fees was 14500 GBP which was average and not much and I was able to pay them in 2 instalments. 3. Campus - The Old Royal Naval Campus is very huge and old, which encourages' student in its own to come and study. "
- The approach for the education is very practical and has an hands on experience in the field of study rather than bookish knowledge.
- The main campus is very old and gives you actual feeling of studying in aboard and in a prestigious university.
Dislikes
- University has a lot of Asian student specially from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh which takes away the chance of studying with the students of other European or American countries and share the ideology.
Accommodation
I had a private accommodation. But in University is generally around £150 / week.
The overall experience is quite good considering the quality of education as it is much more practical also it feels up to date with industry standards. Also some of the modules requires coursework which is more researched based which widens the knowledge and gives a student an opportunity to use the knowledge they received. In terms of placements, all the Universities lack these as they cannot provide the placement.

- For all the reasons that I previously listed. I had a couple of contacts who had applied and studied here and on their recommendation, I had applied.
- The university is really good in terms of the resources available for students. The library is the best part and is equipped with the latest journals and books. It also has access available to e-books and online journals. The timings of the classes are also extremely convenient!
- Additionally, there are a lot of events that are regularly organized which help students network with potential placement offering companies and otherwise.

I have family friends with whom I am currently residing. Therefore, I do not have enough insight regarding this.
Uni of Greenwich is a great place to be! With its diverse student and teacher population and people from various walks of life, it is a must-have experience, if your finances permit. This is not just helping me to achieve greater heights but is also teaching me to network and work professionally along with building my social skills and confidence.
