It's very good and I have learned a lot during my academic journey. People from various industries visit to teach, fun activities in lectures, in-depth tutorials etc.

Fees

27500 GBP

A
7.7 /10

Dislikes:

  • Not the London level exposure .
  • Airport access for international travel to India/other Asian countries is from Manchester or London (1-3 hr train ride) .
  • Not very creative crowd as the college tends towards science students. null

Course Curriculum

7

In my opinion, the course was quite relevant and included coursework or assignments which addressed latest policy developments in UK. We did not have any industry exposure. It's a one-year master's course, which ended with a dissertation. So I would say you do build on your research skills.

Dislikes:

  • Lacks in company visits .

Course Curriculum

The course is pretty good and would have been better with more company visits.

Fees

26000 GBP in 2023 and seems increased this year.

Dislikes:

  • I did not like the teaching style of teachers as during lectures 90% of the time they only used to read out the slides instead of explaining. null
  • I did not like the practical aspect of course as they did not help with placements at all or invited more companies for the same. null
  • I did not like the exam pattern as well, there was only 1 assignment submission required for each module which used to put a lot of pressure on grades and there was no other chance for grades to be improved which also made you lose interest while studying the module. null
  • The feedbacks of guide were not very helpful for dissertation as it felt I did everything on my own without much of a help which later degraded my final grades. null

The course modules were extremely relevant according to today’s time and the syllabus was to the point. However no industrial experience was given during the course or any practical exposure was provided, it was more research-based and theoretical. The only research experience I got was from my dissertation.

Fees

The program fee for international students was £24000 which was paid in two terms making it £12000 for each term I.e. 6 months. However this year they have increased the tuition fees to £26000 or £28000 per annum.

Dislikes:

  • One aspect I dislike about the University of Leeds is the occasional administrative inefficiency, which can lead to delays and frustrations in handling student queries and processes. null
  • Additionally, the large campus size can sometimes make it challenging to navigate and foster a sense of community among all students. null

My undergrad is in agriculture and I've keen interest in research in colloids and dairy science that's why I chose this course. University of Leeds has vibrant research areas.

Fees

Tuition Fee: 29000 pounds but for this year 32000 pounds.

faculty: 8/10
infrastructure: 10/10
accomodation: 8/10
placement: 8/10

Dislikes:

  • The university should be more specific about their course structure. null
  • There should be options for several modules as people come from different academic backgrounds. null

The curriculum is hectic for a master's programme but quite fulfilling. Everything is provided to you beforehand and there is a lot of help from the faculty as well.

Fees

The figure may vary from year to year. For me it was 25,000 pounds. This was only the tuition fees, the stay is separate.

Dislikes:

  • I dislike how I have to climb a literal hill to get to my university. null
  • I dislike how I have to fill a million forms to get a simple permission and how small their threshold is for plagiarism check. null

Course Curriculum

My course literally talks about discovering new drugs, so I would say it is as updated as it could be. It has various modules ranging from basics to advanced, that helps you explore various fields, in whatever depth you are comfortable with. As part of my masters, I am supposed to submit a research project, which involves working 3 months in a fully functional lab and gives me exposure to real life research and development.

Fees

30,000 pounds. I guess it increased for the upcoming year though.

academic: 8/10
faculty: 8/10
infrastructure: 9/10
accomodation: 9/10
placement: 9/10
extracurricular: 8/10

Dislikes:

  • As mentioned earlier, there was no placement cell of the university. It held fairs but they weren't enough as they just helped discovering potential companies that a person can apply to. But without a dedicated placement cell, it becomes very tough for foreign students. null

The curriculum was great with hands on experience in relevant code and non-code applications. It could have been better if they had added SQL as it a basic criteria for being a data analyst/scientist. You get opportunities to research/work with numerous industry partners across the UK during your dissertation period. The dissertation is structured in an appropriate manner which immensely helps you apply what you have learnt.

Dislikes:

  • Moving class to class in a different building is quite a hastle in this university. There is quite an uphill even between the buildings making it very tiring. null

The course is quite updated. They even teach about advanced machine learning stuff later in semester 2. They teach what is required in the industry.
