Course Curriculum

8

  • The curriculum is relevant but we didn't get any industrial exposure. Class schedules will vary but you can expect about 5-6 hours of lectures and also practical lab work of 2-3 hours every week.
  • The average number of students varies, as my course was offered by the school of mathematics, but we were allowed to take modules from the school of math, computing and the business school.

Admission Experience

  • The course was highly flexible. I got to choose 6 out of my 8 modules; also, it was one of the cheapest courses for a university in QS top 100
  • I had an 8.0 in IELTS. I think a stronger SOP and grades, along with supporting evidence, are what are most important.

Faculty

6

  • I do not remember the exact number but they are approachable and well-versed.

Campus Life

10

  • Campus life is great, especially since the city is amazing, very walkable and also diverse.

Part Time Jobs

  • There are some part-time jobs available within the university but you'll have to be proactive to seek that out. Leeds is a huge student city and getting a part-time job isn't easy; again, you need to be proactive to seek it out and it will be fine. We are allowed a maximum of 20 hours during term time. I can't think of a lot of student TAs, RA or DAs. I've mostly seen people doing PhDs get such roles.

Placement

4

  • Most of the people I know either went back home or had some problems finding a job right after graduating; a lot of us did secure a job in 4-8 months' time.
  • This isn't only on the university but also depends on the current situation in the UK; you need to do your own research.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • You can find accommodations online; there are a lot of aggregators out there. My weekly rent was 149 pounds, including bills for an en suite.

Exams

  • IELTS is not necessary, as your CBSE board marks in English also would suffice.
  • LOR, SOP and CV are important.

Fees

  • 28750 pounds but it keeps increasing every year. On the brighter side, because of the decline in international students, there are more scholarships offered.
