What Students Say
Likes
- Multicultural exposure
- World Class Education
- State of the Art Libraries
Course Curriculum
- The course is extremely updated and relevant. Some of the courses had industry experts. My classes were from 9 am to 5 pm every alternate week.
- I had a class strength of 100+ students but we had combined classes for Construction Management and Engineering Project Management.
Admission Experience
- Affordable world-class education. When I went to study, I met their English requirements without a need to appear for any English proficiency tests. I had to apply with my 12th class results for English proficiency, Statement of Purpose, 2 Letters of Recommendation.
- I did not have to appear for any tests. However, I was required to prove that I had more than 70% in English in my 12th class exams.
Faculty
- The teachers are readily approachable. They are polite and knowledgeable but professional. There will be cultural differences in how you approach them. The student-to-staff ratio at the university is 17.6 students per staff.
Campus Life
- There is one campus but it is a huge campus. There are more than 50 clubs for people with different interests. All clubs have a give-it-a-go session for you to try anything that interests you.
- They have world-class research facilities and 4 state-of-the-art libraries, with one of the libraries forming a part of the city skyline. They have world-class sports facilities, with some of the sports for the UK Commonwealth games being held at the University Gym.
Part Time Jobs
- Jobs are available on and off campus readily. During term a student can work up to a max of 20 hours and they are paid minimum wage, which should be about 10 pounds currently. It is fairly easy to find jobs; however, TA, RA and DA jobs are typically reserved for PhD students only.
Placement
- The average salary for graduate students ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 GBP while for postgraduate students the salary will range from 28,000 to 35,000 GBP.
- There are networking events, job fairs, internships and online job portals alongside e-mentoring and career centres to help students with finding a job. However, unlike India, there are no campus recruitments.
Accommodation
- I was paying about 125 GBP per week. I found the accommodation through the university website and the university helped me finalise it. All facilities were included in this, including an en suite bathroom and toilet.
- It had a bed with a mattress, a washing machine, a refrigerator, hobs and ovens for cooking, cupboards, desks, chairs, common rooms, vending rooms, bicycle parking stations, and nearby shops. This cost also included maintenance and wifi.
Fees
- At the time of my education it was 16,000 GBP.
