- Amazing faculty and student support. null
Dislikes:
- Lacks in company visits .
I chose this university for my particular curriculum and as the degree is associated with BPS and leads to the path of Chartered occupational psychologist.
Likes:
- The University campus is very attractive and makes a very study-friendly environment. null
- The module structure and information provided by the University was very informative. However the teaching style was extremely different from India. null
- I used to like the weekly seminars of each Module which were more practical based however not entirely always related to theory. null
- I did like the guest lectures which helped us getting connected to more seniors to know their work experience. null
Dislikes:
- I did not like the teaching style of teachers as during lectures 90% of the time they only used to read out the slides instead of explaining. null
- I did not like the practical aspect of course as they did not help with placements at all or invited more companies for the same. null
- I did not like the exam pattern as well, there was only 1 assignment submission required for each module which used to put a lot of pressure on grades and there was no other chance for grades to be improved which also made you lose interest while studying the module. null
- The feedbacks of guide were not very helpful for dissertation as it felt I did everything on my own without much of a help which later degraded my final grades. null
I chose this university as the university prospectus was very appealing and the University Overall grading was extremely positive to apply for the course. The financial stability and a change of lifestyle also drove me to accept the offer letter. Due to some personal problems in my life, I was looking for a complete change of plans in my life and the University of Leeds seemed like one of the best options at that moment. The modules were also to the point according to my field of study. However, my experience overall here was not as good as I expected, better teaching at such a prestigious university but 80% of the course was based on self-study as professors used to read out the slides they had prepared earlier. The practical approach was very limited, it used to be covered only once a week or once in two weeks for all the modules. The fees were also double the actual University fees for British citizens. Due to the recession my timings for the course did not turn out too well as there are very few jobs for graduates in this role, however, only experienced people get the opportunity. So eventually I would rate my overall experience as mediocre in terms of what I expected it to be before shifting continents.
