- Multidisciplinary work culture: my research spanned two departments, and I had four supervisors with different strengths.
- Open to new ideas, some of my best innovations happened here.
- Excellent lab facilities and lab staff
Dislikes
- It was difficult to get vegetarian food during events and social gatherings. While the situation might be different now, at least in Europe, vegan snacks is default.
- During my research, some of the engineering facilities across department required payments that and they were quite expensive.
- In general, the social gathering and community is not the most welcoming for non-drinkers.

- There were ton loads of activities round the year. I particularly enjoyed the hikes and walks organized to places around Leeds. Leeds and Yorkshire is particularly beautiful and is nice to explore. There are several trails. Leeds is a city of students and hence, there are several bars, etc. Although I did not drink, it is quite safe for students in general to go with your group.
- Of the facilities on campus, there were several libraries and I liked three of them - two for their ambiance and one for having books on my topic. There is a sports center with Olympic-quality facilities. Health centers and infirmaries are quite within walking distance from the campus. There is also a Hindu Temple for students to spend their time during festivities. Student unions also organize Holi parties that involve drinks, music, etc., if you like it.

- Leeds is a city of Universities (four in total) and the campuses are dispersed in the city. I first choose a University managed accommodation. This was through the support of the University staff and through the same application process. Check-in was easy and once I arrived, I figured out that renting private accommodation of various types was less expensive. Monthly rent through the four years for different kinds of accommodation was 400-700 GBP. Post Covid and the economic slump in the UK has affected these severely.
- I would recommend looking for shared accommodation with a private bathroom. These are often the best. I would choose 3-5 room accommodations. People from different countries need different extents of heating. So ensure you have a separate heating/radiator control for your room. Do not hesitate to live with people from different countries – although don't be shocked to see cultural differences. When people live together, a lot of things that wouldn't matter would start getting more important.
- I would also warn students to check the renting company and contract details to the last dot. These cannot be talked about or resolved when issues arise, as in India.
- All my accommodations were 1-2 km from my University. All students, including Indian students who are there for more than a year, look for private accommodation. Students who come for a 10-month course often stay in University accommodation for students. These are more crowded, though nice if you like living with your friends.

- The faculty, students were for the most part friendly and willing to help students from every background get in-tune with British culture, including volunteering and work experience.
Dislikes
- The one thing I dislike is probably a lack of reaching out done by the University for students with mental health issues, I do feel it's something that the university could've done better, because there are varying factors that contribute to a student being down (a bad job market, their own personal reasons, etc.)

- Course is pretty up-to-date with current ever-changing legal stuff. Of course, things change with regard to law frequently in an unwritten constitution like the UK and over the political climate, but the university of law faculty have done well to keep up with recent trends and also provide feedback via student email on recent cases, outcomes and what they may entail in the future.

- A friend recommended the accommodation I stayed in for 2 years (word of mouth). The rent was 180 ppw. The accommodation had an inbuilt gym, a recreational space, night-time security, a lobby, an elevator, a generator, and a laundry space, and the accommodation also held events for students in there for major holidays.

- The faculties were nice and approachable.
- The libraries were a plus too for studies
- It was a decent experience in terms of academics.
Dislikes
- When it comes to getting a job, I was on my own.
- Unlike India, I had to approach recruiters and HRs for applications. There is no concept of campus placement or any help form the College for securing a job.

- Vibrant campus life, with lots of fun activities going on almost every day. Had several careers fairs and events. Libraries are the best part of campus! Just so many and all accessible. Gym and sport facilities available too.

- The Tannery Leeds was reasonably priced, offering en suite to all residents. Regular checks and testing of rooms and very responsive staff too. Found it through Amber Students and monthly rent inclusive of all bills was around £600.

- There is one campus but it is a huge campus. There are more than 50 clubs for people with different interests. All clubs have a give-it-a-go session for you to try anything that interests you.
- They have world-class research facilities and 4 state-of-the-art libraries, with one of the libraries forming a part of the city skyline. They have world-class sports facilities, with some of the sports for the UK Commonwealth games being held at the University Gym.

- I was paying about 125 GBP per week. I found the accommodation through the university website and the university helped me finalise it. All facilities were included in this, including an en suite bathroom and toilet.
- It had a bed with a mattress, a washing machine, a refrigerator, hobs and ovens for cooking, cupboards, desks, chairs, common rooms, vending rooms, bicycle parking stations, and nearby shops. This cost also included maintenance and wifi.

- Found most of the accommodations through university sites. Most of the universities provide all this information on their site. My rent was £178 per week. It included light, an en-suite bathroom, a common kitchen and heaters in every room.

- One thing I really liked about my course at the University of Leeds was the frequency of networking and workshop events available to attend in a one-year course. These events not only helped students to connect with faculty outside course but provided a great platform to learn more about the current job market with discussions on relevant openings and trends.
Dislikes
- On the flip side, one thing I did not like much about the course was the short duration which meant there was lesser time to get started with academics and life in a new country while simultaneously stressing about the job market with early applications. Ideally, I would have loved to see more personal skills and networking based tasks involved in the curriculum but understand the limitations in a one-year course.

- Campus life is rich with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Several spots on campus where you would find students hanging out especially in the amazing libraries spread across the campus.
- Many clubs and societies where you can get involved for free before making your choice for the year.

- I found my accommodation online with the help of sites such as reddit and google. Since I couldn't decide in time for on-campus accommodations, I had to pick a private one, but it did not make much difference, as most accommodations are pretty close to the campus. Rent was around £175 per week for a duration of a year.

- There are study abroad programs (as an extra semester).

- The campus life is lively, with a lot of extracurricular activities.
- The University of Leeds is located at the heart of the city of Leeds, making it easier for commuting to the city centre and for accommodation (there are many places to stay nearby).
- The campus is quite beautiful, with rabbits, spring flowers, ponds, ducks – everything :). They stress environmental conservation and have proper waste management. There is a nice park near business school. There are many clubs and societies in LUU (Leeds University Union). LUU has a cafeteria. Apart from this, there are cafes in most of the buildings and libraries.

- Better to go with University student accommodations. Or private student accommodations. Online platforms. I stayed in a private student accommodation; the en suite room rent was £125 per week, including all bills.
