Ulster University Campuses

Ulster University does not have a single main campus. Instead, it operates across four distinct campuses. For Indian students, the Belfast campus offers the most vibrant city experience, with a large Indian student community (over 250 Indian students reported in recent years), proximity to Indian restaurants, and the highest density of part-time job opportunities. The Coleraine and Derry campuses offer a quieter, more focused environment, better suited to students who prefer a close-knit campus community.

Indian food is accessible across all campuses. In Belfast, well-regarded options include Bengal Brasserie, Archana, Nu Delhi Lounge, and The Raj. In Derry~Londonderry, Mama Masala and Moksh Indian are highly rated. In Coleraine, options are fewer, but Spice House and Ayman's Diner are available.

Ulster has an active Indian Student Society across the university, which organises cultural events for Diwali, Holi, and other occasions.

Northern Ireland has affordable public transport run by Translink (buses and trains). The mLink app is recommended for purchasing tickets.

  • Belfast Campus: Short walk to York Street train station and multiple bus stops. Frequent UniLink services to Jordanstown. Easy access from both Belfast airports.
  • Coleraine Campus: 8-minute walk from Coleraine train station. Direct Goldliner buses from Belfast (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes). Local buses stop on campus.
  • Derry~Londonderry (Magee) Campus: Walkable from the city centre. Direct trains and Goldliner buses from Belfast (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes). Good local bus network.

Most students are assigned to one campus and remain there throughout their program. All campuses have cycle hubs with lockers and showers. Northern Ireland is generally cycle-friendly.

Campus Life

8

  • Ulster University has four main campuses located across Northern Ireland. All campuses provide a wide range of facilities to support students' academic and personal well-being. Libraries are modern and well-equipped, with 24/7 access, digital resources, and study spaces.
  • There are many campus festivals, clubs, or any popular events that take place at my college. There are also many extracurricular activities, such as sports, cultural events, student organizations, that will be taken places in and around university

Fees

  • The fees were around 15 Lakhs in Indian Rupees for my course. It includes only the tuition fees. There are many options to pay the college fees; it's like 3 installments with paying 30% as a deposit and paying the rest in installments.
  • During my studies, I was staying in one of the student accommodations, which cost me around 8 Lakhs in Indian Rupees. Most of the student accommodations are comparatively high when compared to private accommodations.
