Academic Qualification

• A Level:
  • Grades BBC (All subjects considered).
  • Reduced Offer: Grades CCC.
  • Subject Requirement: One subject from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Software Systems Development, Computing (not IT/ICT), or Computer Science.
• RQF Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma / OCR Cambridge Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma: Minimum grade profile of DMM required.
• Smaller BTEC/OCR qualifications: Accepted when combined with A-Levels or other acceptable Level 3 qualifications.
• Irish Leaving Certificate: 112 UCAS points, 5 subjects (4 at higher level), including English and Maths (H6/O4).
• Scottish Highers: Grades BBCCC, English and Maths required at Standard Grade 1, 2, or 3.
• Scottish Advanced Highers: Grades CCD, English and Maths required at Standard Grade 1, 2, or 3.
• International Baccalaureate: Minimum 25 points, 12 at Higher Level; Maths and English Language at Grade 4 or above
• Access to Higher Education (HE):
  • NI Access Course: 63% overall (120 credit course), including 20 credit Level 2 Mathematics (40% pass).
  • GB Access Course: 15 credits at distinction, 30 credits at merit (60 credit course), with GCSE Mathematics (Grade C/4).
• GCSE:
  • GCSE English: Grade C/4 or above, Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills - Communication accepted as equivalent.
  • GCSE Mathematics: Grade C/4 or above, Level 2 Certificate in Essential Skills - Application of Number not accepted as an alternative.
  • General Requirements: Must meet the General Entrance Requirements for a first-degree course.
• HNC Year 1: Overall Distinction (with distinctions in 75 Level 4 credits).
• GCSE Maths: Grade C/4 or an acceptable alternative.
• HND Year 1: Pass HND in any subject area.
• HND Year 2: Considered for year 2 if curriculum matches Ulster's year 1.
• GCSE Maths: Grade C/4 or an acceptable alternative.

English Language Requirement

• IELTS (Academic): Overall 6.0, with 5.5 in each section.
• PTE Academic: 55, with a minimum of 51 in each part.
• TOEFL iBT: 80, with minimum section scores: Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing: 17.
• LanguageCert International ESOL: Overall 65 with no element below 60.
• Cambridge Advanced English: 169 overall, with no less than 162 in each element.
• Cambridge English Business Higher: Grade C with all parts 'weak' or higher.
• Cambridge B2 First: 169 overall, with no less than 162 in each element.
• Cambridge Proficiency in English: 176 overall, with no less than 162 in each element.
• Oxford Test of English (OTE): 126 overall with no contributing module score below 111.
• Skills for English: SELT: B2 Pass.

• Occupational English Test (OET): C+.
