FAQs
Ques: What is the exact tuition fee for BSc and MSc courses in 2026, and how can I reduce it?
Ans: For the 2026/27 academic year, standard undergraduate (BSc) tuition is £15,700 and most postgraduate (MSc) courses are £17,495. If you submit your complete application before 31 May 2026, you automatically receive the £1,000 Early Bird discount, bringing the fee down to £14,700 for BSc and £16,495 for MSc (approximately ₹17.16 lakh and ₹19.25 lakh at current ₹116.5/GBP rate). This discount is applied without any separate form—just meet the deadline and accept your offer.
Ques: Are there fixed application deadlines for the September 2026 intake?
Ans: No, the University of Northampton follows a rolling admissions policy with no official closing dates for most courses. However, popular programs like Computing, Psychology, Business Management, and Accounting & Finance often fill up 4–5 months before the September start. For Indian students, the safest application window is December 2025 to April 2026. Applying early also ensures faster CAS issuance and gives you priority for accommodation and scholarships.
Ques: How much money do I need to show in my bank account for the UK student visa? Ans: You must prove you have £12,006 (9 months of living costs for Northampton, outside London) plus the remaining tuition fee after paying the £5,000 deposit. For example: if your total fee is £16,995 and you pay £5,000 deposit, you need to show £11,995 + £12,006 = £24,001 (≈ ₹28 lakh). The funds must be in your (or your parent’s) savings account for at least 28 consecutive days before the visa application, and you’ll need a bank letter or statement as proof.
Ques: Is on-campus accommodation guaranteed, and how much does it cost?
Ans: Yes—100% accommodation is guaranteed for all international students who accept their offer and apply for housing before 31 July 2026. Most Indian students choose ensuite rooms in halls like St John’s, Scholars Green or Waterside, costing £5,800–£7,200 for a 39-week contract (September–June). The university even offers free airport pickup from Heathrow or Birmingham if you book two weeks in advance.
Ques: Which scholarships are actually available for Indian students, and how do I get them?
Ans: The following scholarships are available for Indian students at the University of Northampton
- UON International Scholarship (£2,000–£3,000): awarded automatically based on your academic percentage (60%+ in Class 12 or Bachelor’s)—no separate application.
- Vice Chancellor’s India Scholarship (£5,000): for students with 70%+ marks and a strong personal statement; apply by 30 April 2026 via the scholarship portal.
- GREAT Scholarship (£10,000): funded by the British Council, available for selected MSc courses (e.g., Computing, Public Health); separate application opens January 2026 and closes March 2026. Many students combine the automatic £2,000–£3,000 with the Early Bird discount, reducing first-year costs by up to £4,000.

University of Northampton Reviews
2 Reviews Found
Likes
- Location in the midlands, offering easy access to major cities
- Modern infrastructure & well-equipped classrooms
- Friendly and amicable professors
Dislikes
- Rankings and Reputation are low compared to other UK universities
- Placement and Employablity support did not meet expectations
- Acceptance of too many students from same nationality/country
Campus Life
- 2 campuses, Waterside campus being the main one. All modern, well-equipped libraries and top-notch sports (indoor and outdoor courts, discounted student membership fees) and medical facilities (GP inside campus).
- Being an overseas student having done the course during COVID times, I am not well aware of events/fests on campus. Campus had cultural days & food festivals weekly where students set up food stalls and sold their cultural cuisines
Likes
- I like the support regarding CV, mock interviews, and personality/confidence development workshops. All of this helped me in securing the information.
Dislikes
- Some lecturers are too focused on theory instead of imparting practical knowledge (but this is only true for some not all).
Overview
I did my Bachelors due to course contents being offered for Marketing and I thoroughly loved the structure and the faculty. Best faculty ever. For my Masters, I came back due to an Alumni scholarship worth 50% which allowed me to resume my studies. I liked that Masters in this university comes with a placement year and I feel a placement year has multiplied the value of my course 10 fold.
Campus Life
This university has a new campus built in 2018 so all the infrastructure is latest and well maintained. Uni offers loads of sports and societies for students to get engaged in outside of their studies. It also has on campus GP clinic for medical requirements.
