Dream College hidden in Mist

This college is a mHRD college i.e. it is of equivalent value to NITs. But since, there are only two branches and low students, it is not so well known and hence the title of review. If anyone wishes to have a quiet environment, he/she is always welcome here since low no. Of students mean less crowd.

The course curriculum is highly specialized for the particular branch. There are two branches only i.e. metallurgy & materials engineering and manufacturing engineering. Since, the course is specialized, one can grasp in-depth knowledge of the field. The exams are very general mid-sem then end-sem type.

There is guaranteed placement for all students like in any other "National Institutes". The internships provided are all in very core sector which generally gives no stipend. But the experience can be really helpful. One can either select core industrial projects or a research project at esteemed institute of their choice.

There is one annual festival celebrated here named JINKS-PRANAV. It is a very large scale festival and gathers crowd from all of Ranchi city. Other than that, NGOs like kartavya and Swacthta Pakhwada are also campaigned arround the ciry.

The fee structure is very-very nominal since it being the least expensive "National Institute" for engineering. The fees is only Rs. 25,600 for one semester. There is no other fees for hostel or wifi.

There is a Canara Bank branch inhibited in our campus which can give loan to students. Other than that, scoring 8 Cgpa and above will easily land you a merit scholarship worth of 27000 rs. While, many students here do not need the loan since the fees is so low, the scholarships provided by central government is always a joy and can be included in resume.

There are many clubs here like drama, dance, singing, robotics, EDC, computerohlics and many more where juniors can interact with seniors and make new friends. The SAE club of NIFFT and the cricket club are specially well known and have their own history and reputation.

Hostel is very-very spacious and well equipped. Since, there are only two branches, students can get single room from first-year only. The wifi provided is very fast and gives low ping while gaming. One can easily stream using the internet facility provided here. The hostel building is annually maintained and hence the room and bathroom are very neat and clean.

Since, there can be maximum of 120 students in ne B.Tech batch, the no. Of alumni is less. But, since the institute being of 1966, the network can go very deep. They are all very helpful and one can always take their help landing any sponserships or internships. I myself had a chance to work at the UCB, Berkeley lab due to alumni present there.

After qualifying the JEE-MAINS examination, students register in the JOSAA portal where the selection is done based on the cutoff rank. Generally, the cutoff rank closes at 40,000 AIR for general category students.

All the faculties here are highly qualified. Either they themselves are P.hD from IITs or foreign institutes or they have done some remarkable research work at CSIRs or equivalent. They are very knowledgeable and helpful.
