What Students Say
Likes
- The boys to girls ratio is pretty good for our college in a class of 70 students there are 40 boys:30 girls
- The quality of the infrastructure is also quite good there have been more upgrades to the college recently
- The faculty expertise, teaching methods are also quite good, there are experienced teachers
Dislikes
- The effectiveness of the placement drives is not up to the mark, very few students have been placed this year and the number seems to be decreasing every year for some reason.
- The engagement with campus life is also poor, because we are not even allowed to step out of the classes in the regular days and we can only step outside for lunch break or when the college ends.
- The relevance and rigor of the course curriculum is not updated at all to the current needs of the industry. The outdated concepts are still teached in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The specific aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is that the teaching of the curriculum is quite good. The curriculum is outdated and doesn't really prepares me for the real world as the technologies being used are more advanced than what is being taught in the college curriculum. The concepts that are trend in the technological industry should be added to the course curriculum for the overall value of the curriculum to improve. The overall teaching methods is quite good and satisfactory. The frequency and timings of exams is around 1 exam in every 2 months and the semester exams is 1 in 5 months. I think that the difficulty is justified for the frequency and the duration of the exams.
Placement Experience
The placement of my college is not upto the mark because the number of students being placed is decreasing every year. The students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester of the college. Many companies have visited the college for the placement drives but they have very less recruitments compared to the other colleges. The highest package of my college is around 8lpa whereas the average package is around 3.5lpa. The percentage of students getting placed is even less than 10% which I think is very poor and something needs to be done for this. I'm planning to get a job off campus if I don't get recruited on the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees for the year is around 75000rs and the other miscellaneous services like development fee, lab fees, jntu Fee all add up to around 5500. The above fee structure is for counselling students and the amount for the management students is around 50000 extra per year than the current fees. There is no scholarships or financial aid provided directly from the college.
Campus Life
There are very few festivals when it comes to my college, there is an annual day celebration and a fresher's day celebration along with a DJ night and that's for all the regular festival for the year. Technical festivals are quite good when compared to regular festival where we have hackatons, Codeathon and many technical quizzes once in a while. There are quite a many books in the library where you can easily find the book of your need. The facilities and technological provisions are also quite good, each class is equipped with a projector and a white screen for the display of system. There are sports fests held once a year and it is held quite nicely and many students participate for the sports fests. Movie promotions and student performances are also done in the college once in a while. There are many clubs that are run in the college by the students, some of the examples ares IIC, Club 64 and GFG clubs.
Admission
The other colleges where I got the confirmed admission was CMR technical campus and Vidya Jyothi institute of technology. The reason why I chose my current college is because Vidya Jyothi institute of technology was quite far from my house so there was a lot of travel time due to which I didn't select that college. I didn't go to CMR technical campus is because I didn't get the course of my wish in that campus so I didn't accept that college as well. I wasn't rejected from any other colleges. I got my college seat through the TS EAMCET counselling based on my rank. It's the most preferred exam for admission in Hyderabad colleges. The cutoff is quite good and can be achieved using some preparation. The overall admission process is also quite good and simple.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is also quite good there are around 1 faculty for every 30 students and rhe faculty student relations is also quite good because they are easy to approach for any guidance and the faculty are quite friendly. Some of faculty whom I liked in my college was Mr. Raghavendra, Mrs. Sushma. The best of the facilities come from NIT's in our college. The faculty whom I didn't like is Mr.Vinod and Mrs. Devi because they were unfriendly and kind of rude to the students. There are around 5 theoretical subjects and 2-3 practical exams based on the course. Out of 70 students around 8-10 students fail the students and the course curriculum is quite outdated when compared to the current trends in the technological industry.
Night Life
There is no nightlife like activities because the college closes at 7pm completely. There is a cafeteria which has good and tasty food, we have a gym with indoor sports and some weight lifting equipments. We don't have any personal hostel for our campus so the students have to look for the private hostels nearby the college. There is town called Gandi Maisamma near the college which has all the needs, including food and other things. The locality is also safe to roam at night as it's pretty far from the city and has a pleasant and calm vibes to it.
