Course Curriculum Overview
My mom has been in the tech field and therefore, i had a major influence of my mother to choose this course i.e. B.Tech. the curriculum prepares us well for the real world applications and mostly content that is taught is quite similar to what interviewers ask. I think extra classes that are mostly scheduled at the end effect a lot and students suffer from lack of revision time as they are required to stay in classes from 9-5.
Internships Opportunities
DIXON and NTRO are companies which offer internships with stipend to the students Summer internships are also held to help the students make projects and use them in the practicality of their course which further helps in placements.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. HCL, IBM, infosys, accenture, KPMG, are a few companies who visit often for campus placements. highest is 20+ lpa and average package is 5lpa My plans are getting a good in-campus placement and work for a few years and complete my masters in MBA
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is paid semester-wise i.e every 5 months. Yearly fees for B.Tech at Amity University, Noida are 4,00,000+ Scholarships are provided to students, but these students are required to maintain a certain gpa every year to keep that scholarship.
Campus Life
Campus life of amity is quite nice, annual festivals held are Freshers, and university freshers and Fest. Fest is held in the end of february. amity's library is the most visited place as it contains innumerable books and it has 3 floors with escalators for easy usage of the students. there are many tables with several chairs. there are also many that are booths for 1-2 capacity with desktop to study more efficiently. sports event that is sanghathan is held in november with students from different courses and department competing against each other. Many alumnis had started clubs, and the club that i am in - ACPC make sure to hold atleast 2 events per month with participation from within the campus and also from different colleges.
Admission
I applied to SRM chennai and got the admission letter. but i had to choose AMITY because of lack of hostel accommodation in SRM for female students. When i got there they told me they had 0 rooms for so many students. I did not get a rejection, i had to reject SRM because of lack of hospitality for North Indian people at the reception desk. Admission process for Amity is quite moderate, you have to have 70% aggregate in PCM to apply for BTECH, and the students have to go through an interview round to get an admission letter based o nthe interview
Faculty
Many faculty members are very friendly with the students, mostly the PL that is, the teacher incharge for a few classes altogether, are quite helpful. HOI of the CSE department is very sweet and a great OOPS C++ professor - Dr. Subhash Chand. There are 2 exams, one set of midsems and one set of major exams. Major exams are quite difficult. sometimes the questions are straight from the PYQs but every once in a while there is an exam that comes out of nowhere and is quite difficult.
Night Life
there is a gym in the campus mostly for hostellers with a tiny cafe outside which provides protein shakes and eggs for them. the most famous cafeteria inside the campus is MegaByte, it is in E block and is used by an app called smartq, you can order and pay online and scan the qr when food is ready and takeaway or eat inside the cafeteria. yes it is safe to roam around at night as the roads are very surveilled with cameras and also the university's guards.
Other Applied Colleges
SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Lack of Hostel accommodation for female students was very disappointing
